  • Oda might reveal mysteries of the original Sun God in a future storyline.

The adventure in the Elbaf arc of One Piece has officially begun, and fans are eagerly anticipating what unfolds next in this captivating tale that’s already sparked a global sensation. So far, Elbaf has had a strong debut, surpassing all fan expectations. Readers were well aware that this story arc would be monumental not just for the thrilling battles and potential conflicts to come, but also for its rich backstory.

It’s worth noting that Elbaf, a legendary location in One Piece, was linked to the Sun God quite some time ago. In chapter 1136, we saw an abundance of lore about this place being unveiled, and what’s more intriguing is that Oda has hinted at the Sun God’s existence even before Joy Boy, a revelation that will undoubtedly captivate the attention of all One Piece fans.

The Sun God Nika Who Destroyed The World

Elbaf Introduced Nika As A Destroyer

For the initial introduction to the Sun God Nika, fans became acquainted with him through the Who’s Who character in the Wano Country Arc. It was revealed that when Who’s Who was imprisoned, he was derisively instructed to pray to the Sun God, which he did. The Sun God was a myth among slaves who believed in him as their deliverer from bondage. It is thought that whenever the people are facing hardship, the Sun God appears and saves them from their struggles. As the narrative progressed in the Egghead, more details about Nika emerged. It became evident that the legends of the original Nika originated in Elbaf. Later on, during an ancient era, a man called Joy Boy surfaced and he was the first pirate ever recorded.

I am the Sun God who will destroy the world! – Loki

The narrative about Joy Boy has expanded significantly since his initial introduction, revealing that he was involved in an immense war against 20 rulers in the past, which ultimately led to the catastrophic end of the world. This global conflict caused the planet to submerge by approximately 200 meters. Joy Boy and his people are known for crafting the Ancient Weapons, weapons that played a significant role in causing this sinking and thus, carry some responsibility for it. Interestingly, Joy Boy intended these weapons to be inherited by future generations, but now, it appears the story has shown they must be used in a specific manner. This could easily lead one to perceive Joy Boy as the world’s destroyer.

In the land of Elbaf, the concept that the Sun God, Nika, could bring about destruction on a global scale is deeply ingrained among the Giants. They hold the belief that Nika, as portrayed by Loki who claims to be this deity, possesses the power to obliterate the entire world. Loki further believes that his suffering will fuel his wrath and ultimately lead him to wreak havoc on the world.

This perception of Nika as a destroyer stems from ancient texts found in Elbaf. These texts are believed to be written in an entirely new language, one that even Robin has yet to decipher fully. The available translations suggest that Nika is either a destroyer or a liberator, but what’s certain is that his presence signifies impending change on a grand scale for the world.

Who Did The First Nika Fight?

The World Of One Piece Was Destroyed Before The Void Century

Prior to diving into the captivating Elbaf arc of “One Piece”, I, as an avid fan, had already grasped that our world had faced a catastrophic destruction in the distant past. Subtle hints dropped earlier on were later unveiled in full detail by the brilliant Dr. Vegapunk during his Egghead escapades. The destructive force came from the Ancient Weapons, causing the world to submerge approximately 200 meters beneath its original surface. In essence, these events marked a new beginning for our world, as suggested by the texts of Elbaf, hinting at a single cataclysmic destruction and the presence of Nika around that time.

On the other hand, the Elbaf arc unveiled more intriguing enigmas, hinting that the One Piece universe has suffered not just one, but two prior destructions. The initial devastation took place well before the Void Century, and at present, we’re unsure of the reasons behind this destruction’s occurrence.

It is believed that the world of One Piece has Ben destroyed twice already. — Jarul

In the fictional universe of One Piece, it seems plausible that 800 years ago, the world could have sunk due to a great war between the 20 Kings and the Ancient Kingdom. The Ancient Kingdom was known to wield powerful weapons, which they unfortunately misused during this conflict. Nevertheless, it remains uncertain as to what initially caused the destruction of the world that long ago, since the Ancient Weapons hadn’t been created yet at that time.

In addition, neither Imu nor the World Government were around during that time. Therefore, it’s likely that the first Nika, hailing from Elbaf, encountered an entirely different peril of unprecedented power. Since Nika is regarded as a Mythical figure in the One Piece universe, this adversary could also be a mythical beast.

Will Oda Reveal The Secrets Of The First Sun God?

The Secrets Of The Original Sun God Can Be A Story On Their Own

I recently witnessed Oda turning the tables dramatically by showering us with enthralling details about the first Sun God. It’s evident that a conflict of comparable magnitude to the Void Century took place much earlier, and surprisingly, there’s no existing data on this war. We’re in the dark about who the adversary was and why the battle was initiated in the first place. Oda has skillfully broadened the horizons of his world, leaving us intrigued and yearning to uncover the truth behind this enigma. This mystery, in many aspects, dwarfs even the epic saga of the Void Century itself.

It’s possible that all these questions will get answered further along in the story, but it seems unlikely that Oda intended for Roger discovering the first world destruction when he reached Laugh Tale. Maybe Luffy will uncover this secret, or perhaps Oda is being more creative than ever before and planning an even larger conflict to reveal through a flashback at some point down the line.
