Treyarch is Disabling Crossplay on Console for Black Ops 6 Ranked Play

In an eagerly anticipated announcement from Treyarch, it’s been disclosed that when season two rolls out for Black Ops 6, it will also introduce a requested feature. With the arrival of season two, console gamers will at last have the option to disable crossplay functionality, ensuring they compete against other console players exclusively and not PC users.

This move aims to shield console gamers from frequent encounters with cheaters, who are typically more prevalent on PC gaming systems. Currently undergoing tests, this new feature is expected to debut during the second season.

Finally.

In a post on social media and on the Call of Duty blog, Treyarch revealed the impending update:

As a gamer in Season 02, I’m thrilled that they’re giving us the option to opt-out of crossplay, allowing me to battle it out exclusively with fellow console warriors!

This update is planned for ranked matches in Warzone and Black Ops 6, but it won’t be available for regular multiplayer game modes at this time. This decision has caused some dismay among fans on social media. Treyarch has stated that they will keep a close eye on the situation and may make additional adjustments to maintain the health of the gaming environment in the future.

Ever since Ranked Play was removed from Black Ops 6, the gaming community has been in chaos. A quick look at social media reveals numerous professional players and content creators expressing their exasperation over cheaters taking over the Ranked Play mode.

Year after year, I find myself playing the same game, but with Black Ops 6, it feels like a step back compared to the previous versions. Somehow, it just doesn’t seem as good as it used to be.

It’s a similar story in Warzone.

In simple terms, Treyarch has announced that during Season 2, there will be an option called ‘Vote to Forfeit’ which enables players to terminate games without affecting their Season Rank (SR) or triggering any game suspensions. Additionally, they plan to implement a feature allowing you to re-enter matches if you unexpectedly disconnect from them.
