The latest report suggests that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has been prohibited in Saudi Arabia because of unavoidable homosexual content within the game. Yet, the game’s creator, Daniel Vávra, has now shed light on this matter.
Vávra, a renowned Czech video game writer, has contributed to well-known series like Mafia and Kingdom Come Deliverance. On platform X (previously Twitter), he spoke up about allegations concerning “compulsory gay scenes” in the game that supposedly led to its ban in Saudi Arabia. However, his explanation contained spoilers for the upcoming storyline of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
In the initial discussion, Vávra made it clear that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 does not contain any scenes that cannot be skipped, and as far as they are aware, these scenes have not been restricted in any countries. Moreover, he expressed his dislike for enforced diversity and emphasized that there is no compulsion for them to incorporate certain elements or expect others to do the same.
In contrast to what some may think, Vávra mentioned that gay characters were present in the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance and this is not a novelty for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Since it’s an RPG, players will have the choice to embark on a same-sex adventure if they wish, but all relationships remain optional, as was the case in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1. Vávra made this clear.
In his discussion about Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Vávra revealed some plot details and the game’s setting, which could contain spoilers. He mentioned that KCD 2 is set in one of Europe’s wealthiest cities, which has been under siege by a huge foreign army. This means players might encounter a more varied city life compared to the first game, which was based in rural villages.
