Hollow Knight: Silksong Progressing Well Towards Release According to Team Cherry

As a dedicated fan, I’ve eagerly awaited the release of “Hollow Knight: Silksong” for almost six years now. Originally conceived as a DLC for “Hollow Knight,” this game has since evolved into a standalone sequel that we can’t wait to get our hands on. Despite occasional sneak peeks, Team Cherry has been relatively tight-lipped about the project.

Without a scheduled release date, eager fans are growing increasingly restless. Some still cling to the optimistic belief that the game might suddenly surface during a Nintendo Direct broadcast, though any such revelation likely won’t happen before several more months, when the anticipated Switch 2 game catalog is unveiled.

Some eager supporters are curious about whether the project is currently being worked on. One of them posted a query on X (previously known as Twitter), urging the team to simply confirm that development is progressing smoothly.

Matthew Griffin, responsible for marketing and publishing at Team Cherry, confirmed that the game is authentic, under development, and set to be launched.

The current buzz arises from a new development in the Alternate Reality Game (ARG) for Hollow Knight, causing speculation among players that it hinted at upcoming announcements. However, Team Cherry clarified that this wasn’t the case. Nonetheless, according to Griffin’s report, things are progressing smoothly and they remain committed to its release.

Everything We Know About Hollow Knight Silksong

The game titled “Hollow Knight: Silksong” serves as the follow-up to the 2017 hit indie Metroidvania, “Hollow Knight“, which captivated audiences globally.

In the game called “Silksong“, players will assume the role of the “Hornet”, a character introduced in the initial game. The gameplay has been tailored to match the agile and acrobatic nature of the “Hornet”, which is distinct from the Knight in “Hollow Knight“.

Anticipate that the upcoming game will surpass its former version in scale, with Team Cherry planning to add 165 new adversaries and offer over twice as many checkpoints for your convenience.

Just as anticipated, a project of this scale requires some patience. Given that Team Cherry is a compact development studio, they prefer not to hurry such an eagerly awaited debut. Initially slated for a 2023 launch, Griffin announced on May 10th, 2023, that the game’s release would be delayed due to the magnitude of the game’s growth. Although Silksong has made appearances at various industry events like the 2022 Microsoft and Bethesda Games Showcase, specific details about the game have been few and far between over the years.

The game titled “Hollow Knight: Silksong” is scheduled to launch on Personal Computers (PC), Macs, Linux systems, Nintendo Switch consoles, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the latest Xbox Series X|S platforms.
