According to the developers, Hollow Knight: Silksong is yet to be released, as stated recently by Team Cherry.
Responding to a fan’s query about whether the game was advancing or if the team had abandoned the project, the game’s marketing and distribution lead, Matthew Griffin, provided a brief response.
“Yes the game is real, progressing and will release,” he said, following it up with a heart.
Though players may have been anticipating more substantial news about the game initially announced in 2019, this latest update comes from a team that has remained relatively quiet thus far. Originally intended as an expansion to the original game, Silksong underwent a transformation during its development and is now a complete sequel. As per Team Cherry, it promises over 165 new adversaries and approximately 100 distinct resting spots.
In this game, you control Hornet, a character who’s been abducted and finds herself in an alien territory. She must battle her way through to reach the summit of the kingdom.
As stated by Team Cherry, Silksong is set to introduce several exciting additions beyond just new adversaries and extra resting spots. This includes a fresh new Kingdom, an entirely original soundtrack, a tougher challenge mode, innovative movement techniques, and brand-new weapons for players to master.
Initially slated for a 2023 launch, the game has been held back due to continued development. Unfortunately, there’s been no indication yet about when we might expect it. However, once released, the game titled Silksong will be playable on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers.
