Given the size of the starting roster, though, there are only so many new directions Tekken 8 can go even with future DLC seasons.

Regrettably, the most sought-after suggestions appear improbable. A second character from Final Fantasy, specifically Tifa, would mark an unusual repetition within that franchise. On the other hand, Kiryu, who originates from Like a Dragon, seems more likely to debut in Sega’s forthcoming Virtua Fighter 6 instead.

There’s no disputing that characters like Armor King bring significant value as popular favorites, however, his resemblance to the original King suggests focusing on other candidates might be wiser. It appears highly likely that Anna Williams will join Tekken 8, hinted at in a teaser trailer for the season pass. Since this pass seems to include only four additional fighters, the roles each character plays become even more significant and beneficial, with Anna’s classic stature enhancing its appeal.

It seems like adding Julia Chang to Tekken 8 is almost a given, due to her frequent appearances in the series. Her Chang Kenpo fighting style is easy for both beginners and seasoned players to grasp, making her an appealing character choice. However, while it would be great to have a Muay Thai fighter like Josie, her relatively unknown persona might find it challenging to compete with the well-established characters such as Bruce or the intimidating Fahkumram. If the second season pass follows the pattern set by Tekken 7, it’s likely we’ll see another crossover character from a popular franchise like Final Fantasy 16, whether that’s from another game or a different medium.
