At the AnimeJapan event scheduled for March 22-25 in 2025, it’s expected that many popular anime series will share major updates, such as the highly anticipated “Sakamoto Days”.
Over the next five days, I find myself immersed in the bustling AnimeJapan event. The first half of my journey here is dedicated to the enthusiastic fans, where I’ll witness a variety of panels showcasing numerous animated series. It’s an exciting time for the passionate community that gathers here.
The latter part of my experience shifts towards the business aspect. These final days are designed to cater to industry professionals, offering opportunities for deals to be sealed or at least presented. AnimeJapan stands as a significant platform where the world of Japanese animation and its industry come together, making it an unmissable event for all involved.
On the schedule for March 22, 2023, at 5 PM (local Japanese time), I find myself standing before the captivating panel of “Sakamoto Days.” Whispers hint that this event may reveal intriguing tidbits about the upcoming second season.
When Is Sakamoto Days Part 2 Coming Out?
To date, we know that Part 2 is planned to premiere in July 2025, and it has been announced that it will be broadcast every Monday at noon (Japan Standard Time). In contrast, the initial part is set for its debut on Saturdays, specifically at 11pm.
Given that the initial run of 11 episodes has been confirmed, it seems probable that they will reveal the air date for the second part and unveil a trailer during the panel at AnimeJapan 2025 (assuming no delays occur).
Sakamoto Days Reception So Far
It appears that “Sakamoto Days” is garnering positive responses on Netflix, yet its manga enthusiasts are finding themselves in a split opinion when it comes to the anime adaptation. Even prior to its broadcast, fans have been expressing reservations about the action sequences, as they seem less fluid than initially anticipated.
In essence, while some fans are dissatisfied with the anime, others find enjoyment in it. Interestingly, new viewers, for the most part, appear to appreciate the series as they watch it.
The show hasn’t made it onto the global weekly Netflix rankings yet, unlike Dandadan which consistently appears there during its run. However, it could potentially draw more interest from subscribers and even lead the charts in certain countries, despite not being globally ranked so far.
