Since 2008, LEGO has given its employees a special LEGO set each year, usually as a holiday gift. Many of these employee gifts have a festive theme. Released in 2016, The Deed: Dynasty is a continuation of the 2015 game The Deed. Its developer, Pilgrim Adventures, says it offers new storylines built around the ideas from the first game. The Deed: Dynasty was later followed by The Deed 2. Pilgrim Adventures also creates other game series, including Space Pilgrim and Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena. All of their games, including The Deed: Dynasty, are made using the RPG Maker software.
