In the game called “Pokemon GO”, there are numerous weekly events for players to join, enhancing their in-game journey. These events aid players in acquiring candies more quickly, raising their own or their Pokemon’s Combat Power (CP) at a faster rate, and completing quests they must finish. This month of January is brimming with diverse events that are ongoing till its end, but today’s special feature is the Spotlight Hour event.
Each week, on Tuesdays, we host a special event called Spotlight Hour. During this event, we shine the spotlight on a particular Pokémon, making it the star of the day. Players have the opportunity to catch a Shiny version of that Pokémon or earn extra candies for that specific species. Here’s your comprehensive guide to this week’s Spotlight Hour.
Paldean Wooper Spotlight Hour Guide
This coming week on January 21st, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM, players can participate in a special Spotlight Hour event. During this hour, participants will receive double Catch Candies as a bonus. With this bonus, players may be able to evolve the Paldean Wooper completely and even have a chance to get this Pokemon as a shiny. To maximize their chances of getting a shiny Paldean Wooper, players should stock up on Pokeballs, Incense, and Berries before the event begins. It’s worth noting that while the Paldean Wooper is similar to the original Wooper, it has a different appearance – specifically, it is brown instead of blue. This Pokemon belongs to the same family as the original Wooper, but it is distinct from it.
As a dedicated Pokémon fan, I’m thrilled to share some insights about the Paldean Wooper! This remarkable creature holds the Pokedex number #0194, hailing from the Johto Generation 2. Catching this elusive Pokémon will reward you with 3 Candies and 100 Stardust, but during Spotlight Hour, you’ll receive a bonus, netting you 6 Candies and 100 Stardust!
Interestingly, the Paldean Wooper evolves into Clodsire after accumulating just 50 candies. This Poison-Type and Ground-Type Pokemon has its unique set of advantages and weaknesses. It’s vulnerable to Ground-Type, Ice-Type, Psychic-Type, and Water-Type attacks, taking 160% more damage in these instances. However, it takes reduced damage from Bug-type, Fairy Type, Fighting Type, and Rock-Type attacks, with only 63% damage being inflicted. Electric-Type and Poison-Type attacks also cause less harm, dealing only 39% of their usual damage to the Paldean Wooper.
Lastly, it’s essential to note that the Paldean Wooper has lower stats compared to other Pokémon, boasting a Combat Power (CP) of just 725, an Attack (ATK) stat of 75, and a Defense (DEF) stat of 66. Keep this in mind when strategizing your battles!
The optimal moveset for this Pokemon involves using Poison Jab, a poison-type attack, and Body Slam, a normal-type attack. This combination delivers a Damage Per Second (DPS) of 3.91 and a Total Damage Output (TDO) of 21.95. The effectiveness of these moves can be enhanced when Paldean Wooper is present in cloudy or partly cloudy weather conditions.
During this event, you can discover the radiant variant of Paldean Wooper – here’s what sets it apart from its normal counterpart:
1. Color transformation: While the regular Pokémon has a brown appearance, the Shiny version sports a purple body.
2. Bone coloration: The original Pokémon exhibits white bones, whereas the Shiny version displays a very light pink tone.
That’s all you need to know about this week’s Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO.
