- Fans are excited about the return of Trios in Plunderstorm.
The popular game, World of Warcraft, has brought back the three-player version of Plunderstorm for its second round in the event. Initially, three-person teams were missing during the initial stage of the World of Warcraft event, but now, players can join Trios and participate until Plunderstorm sails again.
In 2024, a pirate-themed battle royale game called “Plunderstorm” was introduced in World of Warcraft. On January 14, this mode returned for its second run with various new abilities, features, and prizes. However, players who joined the game found that Trios – the three-person Plunderstorm matches that were added midway through the first event – were missing.
At last, Trios is back in action within Plunderstorm! It’s been officially confirmed that, starting from the server reset week of January 21st, Trios has been reactivated for the battle royale game mode in World of Warcraft. Players can join the fray solo or team up with one or two companions; the system will then matchmake the remaining team members for each game. The Trios format is set to remain active throughout the duration of the Plunderstorm event, which is tentatively scheduled to last until around February 18th.
World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Trios is Back
In the Trio Plunderstorm mode, there are some distinct differences compared to Solo and Duo queues. For starters, since there are only 20 teams participating, early skirmishes occur less frequently, providing viewers with additional time to master their World of Warcraft Plunderstorm abilities, gather and enhance these skills, and complete Captain’s Orders quests for increased Plunder rewards. Additionally, the presence of an extra teammate results in more unpredictable skirmishes, while the ease of retreating after a lost battle to later resurrect fallen comrades makes it simpler to regroup and continue the fight.
The cause for Trios being missing during Plunderstorm’s second iteration remains unclear at this time. It’s possible that the introduction of new features like the Plunderstore and Practice Lobby introduced unforeseen complications in the user interface, necessitating additional effort to ensure Trios functioned correctly. Regardless, fans are eager for the reintroduction of Trios in Plunderstorm, as many view it as the most enjoyable and immersive method to participate in the battle royale gameplay.
For enthusiasts of intense battles in the pirate-themed gameplay within “World of Warcraft”, you wouldn’t want to skip the second edition of the Plunderstorm Creator Royale tournament. This Player versus Player (PvP) competition brings together 30 teams, each consisting of two content creators from “World of Warcraft”, for up to eight matches. A substantial $50,000 prize pool awaits the top-performing teams. The Plunderstorm Creator Royale will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch on January 25, commencing at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time.
