It appears that a new Dead or Alive fighting game isn’t coming out immediately, but KOEI Tecmo hasn’t left the franchise behind. In fact, they are planning to launch a new game based on the series titled Venus Vacation PRISM Dead or Alife Xtreme, which is not exactly a fighting game but seems to be related to it.

Venus Vacation PRISM Dead or Alive Xtreme is a game that offers an immersive romantic adventure experience, allowing players to engage in romantic interactions with six characters. Essentially, it’s a dating simulation, and it’s a spin-off of the original Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation.

You’ll Need to Wait Until March For Your Dead or Alive Dating Sim

As reported by Gematsu, citing KOEI Tecmo, the release date for Venus Vacation PRISM has been pushed back slightly from the initial launch date of March 6, with the new schedule set for March 27 in Japan and Asia.

Although an official U.S. edition of the game doesn’t exist, the globally recognized version, referred to on their website as the “Global Version,” offers support for English (amongst Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese languages). Conversely, the Japanese version caters exclusively to users who prefer Japanese.

Yasunori Sakuda, the producer behind the game, shared an update about the delay. He mentioned that they aim to offer the first romantic adventure game in the series with exceptional quality that everyone will appreciate. To make this experience exceptional with the Venuses, they are working on expanding the game by adding more episodes and enhancing its quality without any compromise. Although these improvements are almost complete, they’ve decided to adjust the release date accordingly. They genuinely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

This game, as referred to by KOEI Tecmo, is the inaugural romance-focused title within the “DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme” series, featuring engaging romantic interactions with six adorable and endearing characters.

Players will find themselves immersed in a heartfelt romance and a gripping feeling of intimacy while playing this game. As per the publisher, “As the island boss on Venus, where summers last forever, you’ll engage with the women you meet there. The narrative between you and these women will evolve based on your decisions, leading to diverse endings. The fluttering feelings from small gestures, the excitement as you get closer to your love interest, the uncertainty over which woman to choose… Are you prepared to live a genuine romance in the islands of eternal summer?

At this point, there’s no news about a full U.S. launch of the game. Since dating sims are not particularly popular in the U.S., it might not be released here. But fear not! The Asian version is an alternative, as it offers support for the English language.

Speaking of Dead or Alive updates, KOEI Tecmo has disclosed that they eliminate approximately 3,000 pieces of fan art related to the game each year, as they consider these works to be inappropriate.
