The current champions of the Shopify Rebellion Game Changers, who have held the title for two consecutive seasons, have etched their names in history. These female players were the first to secure a spot in a VALORANT Challengers tournament, following numerous years of unsuccessful attempts.
After a long struggle, the dominant female team in VALORANT’s scene has successfully surmounted their toughest challenge en route to achieving their grand ambition – qualifying for the international stages of the VCT tournaments.
Shopify Rebellion Makes History
Although the Shopify Rebellion Game Changers team has consistently excelled in the GC circuit, they have never managed to progress beyond qualifiers and reach the Challenger level. For VALORANT teams, the Challengers leagues serve as a stepping stone towards the Ascension event, a regional tournament that decides which teams are promoted to the higher-tier VCT leagues on an international scale.
Following their second victory at the Game Changers Championship in December, Shopify suffered a significant setback when their top player, Ava “flor” Eugene, joined the VCT EMEA team, Apeks. This move made flor the first Game Changers player to participate in VCT competition. However, it created a notable void in Shopify’s roster that they will need to address.
Just before the North American Challengers closed qualifier, Shopify brought in Karnthida “dodonut” Chaisrakeo as a substitute. During the qualifiers, Shopify managed to defeat FlyQuest RED, dodonut’s previous team, and then beat Funhaver to claim the third and final spot in the NA Challengers.

Following their recent merger with content creator powerhouses Cr1TiKaL and Ludwig’s Moist Esports, Shopify Rebellion is gearing up to field two teams in the North American Challengers League. Their male roster, who competed in the league last year, will be making a comeback. It’s worth noting that organizations like Shopify are allowed to field two teams in the same ecosystem under Riot’s rules, as long as one of them qualifies for the Game Changers program. Given that Shopify’s Game Changers roster has been a two-time champion, they should be eligible to compete when the NA Challengers League’s first stage kicks off later this month.
Could the players from the Shopify Rebellion Game Changers potentially advance to the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT)? Share your thoughts and engage in further discussions on our TopMob forums.
