In “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, you’ll find yourself back in the Kalos region. With Mega Evolution set to shine once more, it’s a good idea to ponder which Pokemon could be granted new Mega transformations. These changes would bring about increased power and potential for these creatures in “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”.
In the Pokemon series, Mega Evolution significantly transformed the game landscape when it was first introduced in Generation 6 games, marking the start of various powerful features that have been introduced and phased out with each subsequent release. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A returning to the Kalos region, where Mega forms originated, the mechanic is likely to be a key element in the upcoming game. Some fans speculate that Mega Evolution will tie into the game’s storyline, while others are eager to utilize it in battles once more. It would make sense if the number of Pokemon capable of undergoing Mega Evolutions increases in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, allowing the game to catch up on what was missed previously. No new Mega forms have been announced yet, but there are a few Pokemon that seem probable and worthy candidates for receiving new forms when Pokemon Legends: Z-A is released.
Which Pokemon Should Receive New Mega Evolutions in Legends: Z-A?
The Kalos Starter Trio May Have More Time to Shine
In the upcoming game Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it remains uncertain which beginning Pokemon players will select. However, some speculate that the original trio from the region of Kalos – Froakie, Fennekin, and Chespin – may continue to be the starters in their native region. Previously, it was thought that a different trio would be selected for this game, similar to what occurred in Legends: Arceus. Yet, recent whispers hint at a reappearance of Kalos’ original starter Pokemon. Even if other starters are chosen, given their strong connection to Kalos, these three creatures are likely to be included in some capacity.
It seems unfair that the Kanto and Hoenn Starters were granted Mega forms, while their counterparts from the same regions weren’t included in the fun. If selected as the Legends: Z-A starter group, Mega Evolutions could serve as a fitting substitute for the regional transformations that the final evolutions of the Legends: Arceus starters underwent. Giving Mega Evolutions to Greninja, Delphox, and Chesnaught would be an ideal way to pay tribute to Kalos’ past while moving forward into the future.
Legendary Pokemon Can Mega Evolve
In the upcoming Pokemon game set in the Kalos region, it’s likely that the Generation 6 Legendaries – Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde – will make a return. This could provide additional depth to their backstories, as they didn’t receive much exploration in the previous games from this generation. Since the secondary games of Generation 6 didn’t expand upon the mainline titles, the story of the Kalos region has felt somewhat unfinished since then. Given the title, it seems that Zygarde may play a significant role in the game’s plot, similar to how Arceus was central to its own game. However, just as Arceus was joined by Dialga and Palkia with new forms, it’s probable that Xerneas and Yveltal will also reappear, potentially introducing new Mega forms for these two characters, much like the Origin forms that Dialga and Palkia received in Legends: Arceus.
Among all the Legendary Pokemon that currently exist, only Rayquaza has a mega evolution. This means that if the Kalos Legendaries were to have Mega forms as well, they would join an elite and exclusive group.
AZ’s Floette Has Potential That’s Been Left Unexplored
Supporters of the Kalos games may recall AZ, the seemingly immortal previous ruler of Kalos, who developed the ultimate weapon. His connection with a distinctive variant of Floette, combined with the intrigue surrounding him, has made him one of the most perplexing characters in the Pokemon universe. Curiosity about AZ’s Floette escalated significantly when data miners unearthed untouched resources in Pokemon X and Y for a collectible version, known as Eternal Flower Floette.
In the legends section Z-A offers, it opens up an opportunity to delve deeper into the backstory surrounding AZ and Eternal Flower Floette. One intriguing theory that could be examined is if Eternal Flower Floette is actually a Mega Evolution of Floette. To date, no other mid-stage evolution has undergone a Mega Evolution, but Eternal Flower Floette has long been an exceptionally unique Pokemon. If this were true, it would account for Eternal Flower Floette’s distinctive appearance and suggested enhanced power level.
The Porygon Line Matches Legends: Z-A’s Themes
In the context of the game “Legends: Z-A“, Porygon might appear an unusual choice for Mega Evolution, but in this narrative, it fits more coherently than one might initially think. The plot of “Legends: Z-A” revolves around the renovation and modernization of Lumiose City. As a man-made Pokemon, the Porygon line aligns perfectly with the game’s themes of urban redevelopment. By introducing a Mega Evolution for Porygon, “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” could offer players an opportunity to not only upgrade and improve a city, but also a Pokemon that undergoes a similar transformation as it evolves.
