Summary
- Goku never fought Evil Buu, King Cold, Dabura, Android 18, Zarbon, or GoD Toppo in the Dragon Ball series.
- Android 18 gave Vegeta a brutal beating, aiming to fight Goku, but a battle between them never occurred.
- Android 16, stronger than both 17 and 18, could have defeated Goku if they had fought due to his overwhelming power.
In discussions about iconic characters in anime lore, the name Goku consistently comes up. Making his debut in 1984, this legendary Saiyan has managed to stay relevant, even increasing in popularity over time. There are numerous factors contributing to Goku’s enduring appeal, but one of the most significant is his immense power and unyielding determination to become stronger.
Goku’s unquenchable thirst for combat has made him take on almost every significant opponent in the Dragon Ball series. Yet, there are a few exceptionally powerful enemies who have eluded his notice, making them part of an exclusive group that hasn’t faced off against Goku the Saiyan warrior yet.
1. Evil Buu
The Only Version Of Buu That Got Away
During the epic battles of the Buu Saga, I found myself rooting for Goku as he squared off against Majin Buu numerous times, battling through all the different incarnations of the villain. However, there was one form of Buu that Goku never crossed swords with – the evil version!
In the series, the malevolent Buu made a short but impactful appearance, clashing with Good Buu and even dominating him. Since Goku was somewhat more powerful than Good Buu at that point in time, it would have been thrilling to see a confrontation between him and Evil Buu.
2. King Cold
King Cold Couldn’t Avenge His Son
Over the course of Dragon Ball‘s long history, Goku has encountered countless adversaries. Among them, Frieza stands out as perhaps his most memorable opponent. Thanks to Dragon Ball Super, this legendary rivalry was revisited in numerous showdowns.
Sadly, King Cold, Frieza’s father, didn’t have the chance for revenge on Trunks, as he was eliminated by Trunks before fully grasping who his adversary was. A battle between Goku and King Cold might have added an engaging twist to the narrative, even if it had been brief.
3. Dabura
The Demon King Managed To Avoid Goku
In the storyline known as the Buu Saga, Dabura, who held the title Demon King, emerged as the first formidable adversary. Despite not possessing the colossal power of Buu himself, Dabura exhibited sufficient strength to outmatch Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, indicating that he was no ordinary opponent and should be treated with due respect.
Goku couldn’t engage in a duel against Dabura since he was engrossed in combat with Majin Vegeta at the time. If they had clashed, it would have been quite a tight race – that is, unless Goku decided to activate his Super Saiyan 3 form. Dabura’s magical powers, particularly his lethal spitting of stones, would have made this potential encounter more intriguing for Goku, as he would have faced an additional hurdle in overcoming Dabura.
4. Android 18
Android 18 Has Never Actually Battled Goku
After the Frieza Saga concluded, it seemed like the Saiyans were invincible, particularly once Vegeta attained the Super Saiyan form and annihilated Android 19. However, this perception shifted dramatically when Android 18 made her appearance, introducing a whole new level of power to the series.
In a surprising turn of events, despite Vegeta’s recent power surge, Android 18 dealt him one of his toughest beatings yet, fracturing his arm along the way. Interestingly, Goku was her primary focus, but the two never engaged in battle. Regrettably, their confrontation never materialized. Since then, Android 18 has made numerous appearances in the series, squaring off against various opponents, however, intriguingly, Goku’s name has been missing from this list.
5. Zarbon
Frieza’s Absurdly Strong Henchman
Without a doubt, Zarbon stood among the most powerful members within the Frieza Force during the Namek Saga. This was clearly demonstrated when he effortlessly overpowered Vegeta in their initial fight, showing mercy on the Saiyan solely because of Frieza’s commands.
Regrettably, Zarbon lost his life at the hands of Vegeta during their re-encounter, implying that Goku never encountered him. However, considering how potent Goku was during the Namek Arc, it’s likely he would have swiftly defeated Zarbon. Nonetheless, watching Goku defeat Zarbon and avenge his fellow Saiyan would have been a thrilling moment for fans to experience.
6. God Of Destruction Toppo
One Of The Strongest Beings In The Tournament Of Power
In the thrilling world of Dragon Ball Super, I’ve gone head-to-head with Toppo on numerous occasions, but our battles always stopped short of engaging his God of Destruction form. This transformed Toppo was like a completely different entity, pushing my Super Saiyan Blue Evolution to its very edge. In fact, it took every ounce of my strength to execute the Final Explosion – a move that risks my life – just to send him flying out of the arena!
In other words, it’s hard to say for certain if Goku could have beaten GoD Toppo during the tournament without Ultra Instinct. Even though Goku had shown he could counter the Hakai attack, Toppo’s increased power, toughness, and destructive energy in this form might have given him an advantage.
7. Android 16
Android 16 Never Finished His Mission
Prior to the advent of Cell and their training within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Android 16 stood as the most powerful figure. In fact, his strength surpassed not only Android 17 but also Android 18, who managed to easily overpower Vegeta.
Despite Android 16 initially being designed to fight and potentially kill Goku, their confrontation never occurred. Given Goku’s state at the time, it seems plausible that Android 16 might have effortlessly overpowered him in a battle, making him one of the rare characters capable of defeating Goku, had they clashed.
