As a fervent fan, I’m eagerly waiting for the Lunar New Year, and so is Ghost Ship Games! They’ve given us a sneak peek at how we Deep Rock Galactic players can partake in the upcoming festivities. With unique cosmetics and special in-game rewards, we get to ring in the Year of the Snake with panache!

Through 2025, Deep Rock Galactic maintains a consistent player base, keeping fans hooked with its unique blend of space dwarves, mining, and chaotic cooperative play. While Season 6 is anticipated in the second half of 2025, the development team appears to be concentrating on the upcoming rogue-lite version, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. Despite this, updates for Season 5 continue to roll out for its dedicated player community.

The Lunar Festival in Deep Rock Galactic starts on January 30 at 1 PM Central European Time, running until February 13, giving players two weeks to join the celebrations. In honor of the Year of the Snake, players can uncover concealed Golden Serpent statues to receive a bonus of double points for their entire team. During breaks between missions, miners will notice that the Space Rig is adorned with fresh festive lanterns and decorations. Moreover, firecrackers make a comeback to help the tipsy dwarves kick off the party with a blast. Soon, players will also have the chance to bring the festivities into reality with a collection of Deep Rock Galactic replica beer mugs available for purchase.

Deep Rock Galactic Celebrates the Year of the Snake With The Serpentine Special Headgear

Hey there fellow gamer! Exciting news, we’ve got two new tasks coming up! As miners, we’ll have the opportunity to grab some fresh and returning goodies. Completing the Lunar Festival 2025 mission will earn us The Serpentine Special – a festive headgear that slithers like a snake, fitting for the Year of the Snake and available across all classes. Additionally, we can nab cosmetics missed from previous Lunar New Year celebrations by wrapping up the Last Year’s Blessings assignment. This will unlock a bunch of older themed Lunar headgear in one go.

Ghost Ship Games is showing their player-centric spirit by giving us access to past event content like this. They did something similar when Season 5 let us jump into Deep Rock Galactic‘s older Battle Passes, offering a breath of fresh air and relieving some of the pressures common in live-service games.

During breaks from assignments, gamers have the opportunity now to join the GUNTOUCHABLES Closed Alpha Playtest, set to start on January 29th. Developed collaboratively by Game Swing and Ghost Ship publishing, GUNTOUCHABLES is an anticipated roguelike cooperative horde shooter slated for release in late 2025.
