People Can Fly Is Co-Developing Gears of War: E-Day

On a recent announcement, it’s been made known that People Can Fly is collaborating with The Coalition in creating Gears of War: E-Day. This marks their return to developing the series they previously worked on up until Gears of War: Judgment released back in 2013.

In simpler terms, Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of People Can Fly, expressed through a statement that he is looking forward to working together again on the upcoming part of this renowned story, which offers a chance not only to uphold but also enhance the thrilling, emotional action and captivating narratives that fans adore. He also expressed his appreciation for the trust and backing given by their partners throughout this venture.

Mike Crump, the head of Coalition Studio, expressed his delight about collaborating with the gifted team at People Can Fly, who have significantly contributed to our franchise’s history for such a long time.

A little over a month ago, it became public knowledge that People Can Fly is developing a Gears of War prequel, following the recent announcement that they had let go of 120 employees. Previously in April, the company also disclosed that they were scrapping their long-term project, Project Dagger.

Announced a year ago, Gears of War: E-day is a prequel scheduled for release, taking place 14 years before the initial Gears of War. This game, developed using Unreal Engine 5, focuses on Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago’s struggle against the locust horde. A launch date has yet to be confirmed, but recent whispers hint at a potential release in 2025 by Microsoft.
