In a new development, Critical Role is about to publish an anthology titled “Critical Role: Vox Machina – Stories Untold,” which consists of ten stories offering perspectives from both allies and adversaries that Vox Machina came across during their Dungeons & Dragons campaign. The anthology, set in the world of Exandria for Dungeons & Dragons, is due to be released on March 4, marking Critical Role’s 10th anniversary.

Initially, on March 12, 2015, the first episode of “Critical Role” debuted, marking its entry onto Twitch for the very first time, filled with voice acting talent. Over the course of a decade, “Critical Role” has experienced extraordinary growth. This journey has led to the creation of a publishing company, a foundation, and the Beacon streaming service. Furthermore, it has resulted in the airing of three seasons of “The Legend of Vox Machina” – an animated adaptation based on the first campaign.

In 2025, to commemorate its 10-year anniversary, Critical Role is launching a special collection titled, “Critical Role: Vox Machina – Stories Untold“. This compilation includes ten short narratives that offer unique perspectives from various characters associated with the adventuring group. These include allies like Shaun Gilmore, Trinket, Kaylie, and Doty; major adversaries such as Raishan and Kevdak; and even guest GMs like Aabria Iyengar from Dimension 20 and Critical Role. The stories are authored by different individuals, including popular authors like Rory Power and Sarah Glenn Marsh. Cast member Liam O’Brien contributes a foreword, hinting at the diverse array of voices featured in this anthology.

Four out of ten stories in “Critical Role: Vox Machina – Stories Untold” have not been disclosed yet, but the cover of the book features medallions for each story that may provide clues about who will be featured. Among these symbols are a sword, rifle, dragon, and spider-like creature, which do not seem to relate to the already unveiled stories. These icons might be hinting at other significant characters from “The Legend of Vox Machina” such as Sylas Briarwood, Anna Ripley, or J’mon Sa Ord.

As a die-hard Critical Role fan, I’m thrilled to share that we have a unique opportunity coming up! On January 30, we’ll be treated to an exclusive one-shot event. The proceeds from this event will go towards supporting those impacted by the Los Angeles fires.

Here’s the exciting part: contributors like us get to decide the challenges our beloved cast faces during their adventure. You can choose monsters, perils, and other hurdles they’ll encounter. Rest assured, all donated funds will be channeled to charities dedicated to aiding in the recovery efforts from this disaster.
