The creative lead at Helldivers 2 and Arrowhead Games has shared that they’re planning to take a break before diving into the development of their next project.
Johan Pilestedt, the Chief Commercial Officer of Helldivers 2, recently shared on X (previously known as Twitter) that he will be taking a break. In his post, Pilestedt mentioned that players started playing Helldivers 2 last year, but he’s been working on this game since 2016 and the entire Helldivers series since 2013. Over the past 11 years, he has dedicated himself to this project without a break, which means he had less time for his family, friends, wife, and personal well-being.
Due to some personal reasons, the Creative Director of Helldivers 2 (CCO) is planning a break to “repay the faith” shown by his supporters over the past decade. During this time, Pilestedt has reassured the community that the team at Arrowhead Game Studios will continue to produce exceptional content for Helldivers 2. When he returns from his leave, work on the “next Arrowhead Game” will commence.
During his sabbatical, Pilestedt subsequently shared a new update, disclosing that immediately upon returning, he embarked on a collaborative project known as “a game development marathon” with the top developers and studio founders at Arrowhead Game Studios.
