Electronic Arts (EA) might bring back The Sims 1 and The Sims 2, including all their expansion packs, as a way of celebrating the game’s 25th anniversary.
According to Kotaku’s latest report, it is suggested that Electronic Arts (EA) intends to make available again the classic games The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 for personal computer users.
Activity on the official Sims X (previously Twitter) account has suddenly picked up, with the page sharing mysterious hints. The most recent one displays The Sims 2 menu and reads “BRB” (short for ‘Be Right Back’).
Based on Kotaku’s report, the video “Celebrate 25 years of The Sims” published on January 14 serves as both an announcement and release date for The Sims 1 and The Sims 2. This means that fans who are eagerly awaiting this news have only a few days left to wait, until the specified period between January 27 and January 31.
Additionally, it’s noted in the report that both games will debut with all their initial expansion packs included.
At this point, it’s uncertain whether Electronic Arts (EA) intends to make The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 available for console release in the future.
As a devoted fan myself, I can’t help but feel exhilarated about the upcoming news that will undoubtedly bring joy to fellow Sims enthusiasts who have been immersed in The Sims 4 for more than a decade now. While many players seem content with the game’s regular updates, there’s no denying the allure of a nostalgic trip back to earlier versions of the game.
By October 2019, the total revenue earned from The Sims video games surpassed $5 billion, with a staggering 200 million copies sold worldwide. Exciting news came in March 2024, revealing plans for a Sims movie in production!
