Summary
- Poseidon connects to Conqueror’s Haki due to its ability to control the Sea Kings by exerting their will externally.
- Pluton correlates to Armament Haki based on its devastating firepower.
- Uranus is speculated to represent Observation Haki due to its connections to the sky.
One compelling facet of the “One Piece” universe is the enigmatic history surrounding the Ancient Weapons. From the very beginning, they’ve been hinted at within the series, but their physical manifestation and official introduction have remained shrouded in secrecy, with a few exceptions such as Poseidon. Intriguingly, despite their elusive and seemingly peripheral role, the Ancient Weapons are pivotal artifacts that significantly impact the entire narrative.
To date, Princess Shirahoshi is the only character shown to embody Poseidon, whereas Pluton and Uranus have merely been suggested. Fan theories, however, explore the implications of what we know about these artifacts, positing that Haki might hold the secret to unlocking their full potential. Therefore, let’s delve into how Haki could be linked to One Piece’s Ancient Weapons.
Conqueror’s Haki Can Represent Poseidon
The Power To Dominate Wills
First Appearance | One Piece, Chapter 612, “Taken by the Shark They Saved” |
---|---|
Debut Date | January 31, 2011 |
Story Arc | Fishman Island |
One hint that links ancient weapons to Haki can be found by examining what fans are most familiar with today. For centuries, ‘Poseidon’ has been linked to the royal lineage of Fishman Island, where a princess is born who can command the Sea Kings. In the present day, this power resurfaces in Princess Shirahoshi, whom the Sea Kings recognize as their ruler.
The birthing is at hand! Our sovereign will soon be born…
From my perspective, certain enthusiasts argue that the power wielded by Poseidon bears a striking resemblance to Conqueror’s Haki. While they are not identical, both abilities seem to enable users to exert their will over others in a unique way. With Conqueror’s Haki, a person can dominate the will of others, whereas Poseidon’s power allows them to command Sea Kings. This vague similarity has sparked discussions among fans who suggest a possible connection between the two abilities. Essentially, both powers enable users to project their will externally onto others, leading some to speculate that there could be a link between them.
Armament Haki Can Represent Pluton
A Weapon Of Incredible Power
First Mentioned | One Piece, Chapter 192, “Whirlwind Warning” |
---|---|
Debut Date | July 23, 2001 |
Story Arc | Alabasta |
In the series so far, the first Ancient Weapon introduced hasn’t made an appearance yet, but it’s renowned for its immense power. This battleship is said to have the ability to obliterate an entire island with a single cannon blast. As of now, it’s believed to be hidden beneath the island of Wano. The means by which it ended up there remains unclear, though it’s speculated that it might have been concealed there by Joyboy as a precaution against the World Government.
“Pluton”. It is said a single blast from it can destroy an entire island without leaving a trace!
It’s widely thought that Pluton shares a connection with Armament Haki. This power enables users to strengthen their bodies against assaults or, more frequently, coat their weapons, making them tougher, long-lasting, and capable of inflicting immense damage on enemies. Despite the lack of clarity about these weapons, it’s evident that the destructive force attributed to Pluton resembles the offensive prowess of Armament Hiki, significantly boosting the power of regular attacks.
Observation Haki Can Represent Uranus
The Most Mysterious Ancient Weapon
First Mentioned | One Piece, Chapter 650, “Two Changes to be Aware Of” |
---|---|
Debut Date | December 19, 2011 |
Story Arc | Fishman Island |
Because Uranus remains a puzzle with very little known about it, this is where the real brainstorming starts! If we follow the pattern of the three types of Haki representing ancient weapons, then Uranus could be connected to Observation Haki. This seems plausible when considering contextual analysis as well. Firstly, in Greek mythology, Uranus was the sky god, so it fits that the weapon represents Observation Haki since the sky provides a comprehensive view.
Three Ancient Weapons… each bearing the name of a God… “Pluton”, “Uranus”, and “Poseidon”.
Furthermore, Skypiea stands out as one of the most significant storylines in One Piece, and the primary ability from this arc was called ‘Mantra’, which is simply what the Skypieans refer to as Observation Haki. This aligns well with the theory being presented here. It has been proposed that Uranus is currently under the administration of the World Government, possibly used by Imu to annihilate Lulusia’s island, though this remains speculation. However, it opens up the possibility that Uranus serves as a tool, allowing its user to be cognizant of nearly everything occurring around them at all times, perhaps even embodying the Voice of All Things itself.
One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
