Ninja Gaiden 2 Black – Chapter 5 Walkthrough (All Secrets, Chests, & Collectibles)

  • This chapter should only take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
  • You will only have access to Momiji’s Heavenly Dragon Naginata weapon, but you’ll at least still have a Bow/arrow to use.
  • Momiji can double jump!

Chest 1

Immediately when the level begins, head towards the bridge that’s directly in front of you. A few enemies will advance for a fight, which you should handle promptly. After dealing with them, continue crossing the bridge. At the very end of the bridge (before a staircase on your right), you’ll notice an open treasure chest sitting there.

Before you’ve had a chance to explore the contents, certain adversaries will make an appearance: “Grains of Spiritual Life“. If you look at the nearby staircase, you’ll find a flame archer who can be effectively dispatched using your trusty bow.

After overcoming it, the door hidden behind them will automatically open. Turn to your right for a path leading to an open space offering a pleasant cityscape.

Once they’ve successfully passed through, the concealed door beyond them will swing open. Take a turn to the right for a scenic route that opens up to a lovely city view.

Multiple adversaries will approach from this location, among them flamethrower archers and shadowy ninjas who wield magical abilities. Ultimately, the Blue Black Spider Tengu is set to appear.

  • It’s worth noting that this fight with Black Spider will end prematurely, so don’t get so worked up about trying to defeat it.
  • The main attack to look out for are his super high jumps. Once he moves up in the air, make sure to dodge and back away as far as you can, and try to get a good swing at him when he’s on the ground.
  • The other move to watch out for is a spinning hurricane move. A tornado will appear around him, which is a sign for you to back away to avoid damage.

Chest 2

After the battle concludes, veer toward the lone open entrance (should you be standing before the structure we recently engaged, take a right turn).

You’ll see a chest hanging out on the left-hand side containing a Herb of Spiritual Life.

Now, you can go through the open gate, following the path towards a blue dragon save point statue.

Chest 3

Alright, mate! Step outside the door ahead and climb up those stairs, but beware! As soon as I step into the next chamber, some sneaky foe is bound to pop out from thin air. Keep your guard up!

Overcome the demons, then stroll across the room to discover a chest situated to your left, near a sewer drain opening. This chest contains an Herb of Spiritual Life.

Chest 4

You can hold down the RB/R1 button to show the direction of your main goal.

Next, venture into the tunnel to arrive at a recognizable location. Descend and vanquish the ninjas appearing along the way. Rather than proceeding towards the central bridge, veer off to the right and then left to stumble upon a hidden chest containing Grains of Spiritual Essence.

Chest 5

Make your way towards the large red bridge, then leap down to the ground level to the left side of it where you’ll encounter some adversaries. There’ll be a store situated close to the front of the bridge, and if you go left, that’s the primary route. Nevertheless, once you’ve crossed the bridge, follow the stone path to stumble upon a solitary treasure chest containing a Devil’s Way Mushroom.

Return to the way leading to the vendor to proceed further. Along your tranquil stroll on the candle-lit path, be aware that some ninjas might join you. Eventually, you’ll come across a dragon statue serving as a save point. Keep in mind that once you enter the main structure, you’ll encounter numerous ninjas, demons, and two challenging bosses.

How to Beat Black Spider Tengu’s (Red and Blue)
