Yungoos Spotlight Hour Guide

As the first month of 2025 nears its close, enthusiasts of the game “Pokemon GO” are eagerly anticipating the new Pokemon that will feature in upcoming Spotlight hours. Although the next Spotlight Hour for January is approaching, it’s worth noting that on January 28th, 2025, from 6PM to 7PM, players can look forward to encountering Yungoos – a weasel-like Pokemon that is adored by fans.

During this special Spotlight Hour, not only do you get to participate, but you’ll also earn double the candy when transferring a specific Pokemon. This makes the Pokemon GO spotlight hour an incredibly engaging experience for players, as they can catch and transfer these creatures. Players are advised to stockpile Pokeballs, Berries, and Incense in anticipation of this thrilling event.

Delving into Yungoo’s depths reveals it as number #734 on the Pokedex. Originating from Generation 7 in Alola, this Pokemon can be moved to Pokemon Home and traded. Capturing this creature rewards the player with 3 candies and 100 StarDust.

1. In the world of Yungoos, there are two stages of evolution for Pokemon requiring 50 Candies. During daylight hours, players can evolve both Yungoos and Gumshoos. The maximum Combat Power (CP) for Yungoos is 994, with an Attack (ATK) of 122 and Defense (DEF) of 56. This Normal Type Pokemon is susceptible to more damage from Fighting-type attacks (an increase of 160%) but takes less harm from Ghost-type attacks (a reduction of 39%). The optimal moveset for this creature includes Tackle, a Normal-type attack, and Crunch, a Dark-Type attack, which yield 4.44 Damage Per Second (DPS) and a Total Damage Output (TDO) of 19.32. These attacks are enhanced when used in Partly Cloudy or Fog weather conditions. To obtain additional moves, it will cost the player 25 Candies and 10,000 StarDust. Furthermore, there exists a radiant variant of Yungoos, known as Shiny Yungoos, whose primary distinction is that its back color shifts from yellow to purple, while its toes transform from black to white.

It’s not wise to deploy Yungoo in a battle against another Pokemon, as it is not particularly strong and doesn’t have a powerful attack. Instead, using Yungoo first in a battle could be an advantage if you decide to use it, considering its small size and weak nature. However, it’s not advisable to place Yungoo in a gym or use it in a raid due to its weakness. Always make sure to assess the strength of your Yungoo before using it in future battles.
