- Despite recycled events, Splatfest remains popular, bridging content gaps for Splatoon 3 fans.
As a gamer, I can’t wait for me to dive back into the vibrant world of Splatoon 3 with the return of the chocolate-themed Splatfest! It’s exciting to see if my team will change the outcome from the initial event. This is just another fun addition to the game, following the Grand Festival which wrapped up the fresh content for Splatoon 3.
In 2023 for the initial time, Splatoon 3 hosted a Splatfest themed around chocolate, with teams choosing between dark, milk, or white chocolate as their preference. Previously, white chocolate emerged victorious, and some think it might do so again this time. However, alterations to the dynamics of Splatoon 3‘s Splatfests since the first event may lead to unexpected outcomes, despite the teams’ allegiances remaining consistent.
In the upcoming game, Splatoon 3, we’re seeing a return of the Chocolate Splatfest! Here, players will pick sides on their favorite type of chocolate and face off in themed battles. Previously, Big Man emerged victorious, while Deep Cut crew members Shiver and Frye are once again leading the Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate teams respectively. The chocolate-themed turf wars kick off on February 7 at 4 pm PT, with the final round scheduled for February 9, also at 4 pm PT. In the week prior to the Splatfest, players can join a team, collect their Splatfest shirt, and start earning Conch Shells for your chosen team, even before the official fights commence!
Will Splatoon 3’s Chocolate Splatfest Be Different This Time?
Several fans are already discussing who might win this round of the Chocolate Splatfest, with many predicting that Big Man’s Team White Chocolate could emerge victorious again. However, it’s important to remember that anything can happen, as the outcome will be affected by factors such as the number of participants and how battles unfold. Notably, the method for calculating Splatfest wins has been adjusted since the last time this event took place, with Sneak Peek now earning significantly more points than before. Additionally, teams that come in second place in each category will also receive points, which was not the case previously.
Although Splatoon 3 enthusiasts were disheartened when the game’s significant content updates concluded following only two years, many are content that Splatfests continue to take place, even with reused topics. Given its status as one of the most thrilling events in the series, it will serve to keep players engaged until a new announcement is made within the Splatoon franchise.
