Summary
- One Piece bounties aren’t accurate power indicators, but measure threat to World Government.
- Demalo Black’s higher bounty than Arlong highlights flaws in the bounty system.
- Arlong’s low bounty was intentional due to Navy focus, island operations, and bribery.
The reward system within the storyline of One Piece provides an engaging in-story justification for characters’ power levels. In this universe, a powerful pirate is one who draws the interest of the World Government, prompting them to issue increasingly substantial rewards for the capture of that individual. Consequently, it follows logically that pirates with higher bounties are significantly stronger than those with lower bounties.
In contrast, when measuring power using the bounties from “One Piece,” this method isn’t flawless. Frequently, flaws in the World Government and mistakes made by “One Piece” Navy personnel result in some bounties being surprisingly incorrect. This is even more puzzling for “One Piece” fans when considering an odd discrepancy: Arlong’s bounty is lower than the inflated one given to a fake Luffy, leaving many perplexed.
The One Piece Bounty System Is All Over The Place
Sometimes Weak Characters Are Given High Bounties
The One Piece bounty system is often seen as a gauge of a character’s power, but its primary function is different. Many viewers and characters within the series view it as a way to identify powerful pirates, but in truth, the bounty system quantifies a character’s potential threat to the World Government of One Piece as a whole. For instance, a seemingly weak character like Robin who held secrets about the Poneglyph language had a high bounty because of her hidden knowledge. On the other hand, strong characters in One Piece pose a greater risk due to their natural strength.
Did you hit me knowing who I was? – Demalo Black masquerading as Luffy
In the exhilarating Return to Sabaody Archipelago Arc of One Piece, I stumbled upon an intriguing revelation: a pirate captain named Demalo Black had been masquerading as Luffy during the time skip! His aim was to amass a colossal pirate crew under his control. However, beneath this facade of a powerful sea-rover, Demalo Black was shockingly feeble. He resorted to manipulation to attain his objectives. Yet, it was said that the genuine article boasted a staggering bounty of 26 million Berries!
Arlong’s Bounty Is Lower Than Demalo Black’s In One Piece
Demalo Black Is Still Manipulative And A Fair Threat
- Demalo Black Has A Higher Bounty Than The Notorious Fishman, Arlong
- Despite Being Weak Demalo Black Is Cruel And Manipulative
As a die-hard One Piece fan, I find it amusing how Arlong, the Fishman with a seemingly modest bounty of 20 million Berries, is perceived as more notorious by the World Government than the formidable Sun Pirate he once was. It’s almost comical to some fans that a comedic character like Demalo Black, who hasn’t even been assigned a bounty yet, is jokingly deemed stronger and capable of defeating Arlong in a fight. However, it’s essential to remember that strength isn’t always measured by bounties or fame; it lies in the characters themselves.
In the captivating world of One Piece, it’s not always the raw power that makes a character a threat, but rather their potential to cause harm to the World Government. Take, for instance, Captain Demalo Black, who despite his apparent weakness, was a formidable adversary due to his cunning and cruel nature. It seems plausible that the World Government might have seen him as a potential danger to the common folk of One Piece, even if they themselves were not in immediate peril.
Arlong’s Bounty Is Low Intentionally In One Piece
The Fishman Kept His Bounty Low On Purpose
Regarding Arlong, once a Sun Pirate, he secluded himself in the isolated corners of East Blue, running his business on a small, out-of-the-way island. Even during his time as a pirate, the Navy saw him more as a minor nuisance compared to notable figures like Jinbei and Fisher Tiger. Moreover, Arlong paid off officials from his own island to keep his bounty at a minimal level. If not for this bribery, it’s likely that his bounty would surpass Demalo Black’s.
With our abilities, we’re beings of a higher order than you puny humans. – Arlong
It’s still amusing to ponder over the fact that Demalo Black, of all the characters, boasts a higher bounty than Arlong in “One Piece.” And believe it or not, such unexpected occurrences are quite common in this thrilling world of ours! Characters like Chopper and Bepo, despite their immense strength, hold bounties under one thousand Berries. So, the bounties in “One Piece” don’t necessarily reflect the true might of its characters in the grand scheme of things. As an avid fan, I always find myself questioning what other secrets this incredible series still has up its sleeve!
