Recruit Sofia Daguerre in Fallout 76 For a Less Lonely Apocalypse

Prior to the release of the Wastelanders update for Fallout 76 on April 14th, 2020, the vast wasteland of Appalachia seemed unremittingly desolate and lonely. It was left to the players and their minimal interactions with one another to fill the post-apocalyptic world with tales and reminiscences. However, with Wastelanders, Bethesda brought numerous non-player characters into existence to enrich the game universe, as well as several notable allies and potential romantic interests.

Who wants to survive in the wasteland alone when spunky Sofia Daguerre awaits?

One associate is Sofia Daguerre, an astronaut from the U.S.S.A.’s space program. In 2103, she encountered an accident involving her ship in the Appalachian region. Being uninformed about the recent global nuclear disaster, Sofia sought refuge in a Free States bunker until the character stumbled upon her and learned about the catastrophe that had befallen the world.

Where Can You Find Sofia Daguerre in Fallout 76

If you’ve ventured through Appalachia for a while, it’s likely you’ve encountered The Mire. Typically, you’ll find yourself there between levels 20 and 25 approximately. Interestingly, this is around the time when you’ll be given the quest to recruit Sofia Daguerre.

By tuning into the radio signal provided for the mission, you’ll be able to trace her last-known location. This spot is an Abandoned Bunker situated just north of a hunter’s cabin, which can be found in the northeastern part of The Mire. It’s quite close to East Ridge Lookout.

How to Recruit Sofia Daguerre

After finding and entering the Abandoned Bunker, you’ll notice Sofia Daguerre injured and seated on the floor in the last room.

She’ll chat with you shortly, after which you’ll reveal the bombshell – detailing the path that led to global nuclear destruction, leaving behind a desolate landscape filled with magical pipelines.

As much as I’d love to strike up a chat with Sofia Daguerre for a quick recruitment, it ain’t that simple. Instead, she’s throwing me a quest right off the bat – tracking down the wreckage of the very ship she was on. Commander Daguerre wants me to find it first in her mission chain.

Luckily, it’s not far. Just travel towards the southwest direction until you come across Gulper Lagoon. Once there, proceed westward. In the distance, you will spot a wrecked ship. Inside, there’s a flight recorder which you should retrieve as she needs the data it contains.

We trust you’ve got yourself ready! Once the flight recorder is triggered, there’ll be a two-minute wait for the download to finish. In this period, some aggressive Super Mutants might spring an ambush on the player. If you’re well-equipped with ammo or wielding a powerful sledgehammer, handling them should be a breeze.

Upon completion, return to Sofia with the data.

But that’s not the end of the recruitment quest. Did you think it was that easy? Not quite!

After that, Sofia wants you to find the encryption key. You can find it on a robot from the United States Space Agency, which is located south of Gulper Lagoon. This is just a standard retrieve mission with nothing unexpected along the way.

Upon returning the key, Sofia Daguerre will thank you, and you can recruit her to your C.A.M.P.!

How to Get Sofia Daguerre at C.A.M.P.

To get Sofia Daguerre working at your base in Fallout 76, you’ll initially need to construct the necessary item – in this instance, that’s a command console. By now in your adventure, you should have enough resources to easily craft the computer.

From there, you can continue her quest line and tackle a few radiant objectives.

  • Crash Landing

When Sofia is at your base, remember to offer her a refreshing Nuka-Cola Wild to earn her favor (Please note that this does not have any actual effect in reality).
