In the course of its open beta development, Palworld is consistently unveiling fresh expansions in the game, such as the recently introduced Feybreak expansion which features a colossal new island – six times the size of Sakurajima – for gamers to delve into. This latest update includes novel items, weapons, and Pal Gear, alongside enhanced mechanics, fine-tuned gameplay, and intriguing new NPCs to encounter and engage with.
In every new island expansion within the game, a delightful aspect is the introduction of fresh Pal specimens to discover and capture during your journey. Similar to the Sakurajima update, the Feybreak update introduces numerous creatures to catch for your collection and combat purposes. Among these various Pals is Smokie, an endearing little canine-like creature. If you’re having difficulty locating Smokie, this guide below provides all the information on where to find and capture this species in Palworld.
Where to Find & Catch Smokie in Palworld
In the game Palworld, Smokie is a Pal native exclusively to Feybreak island, so players will have to advance their character to a level that unlocks such a location first. Additionally, to get to Feybreak, you’ll need either a flying mount or a water-capable Pal, as the ocean must be crossed initially. Before venturing to Feybreak, it is advisable to stock up on ammunition, medicine, and powerful companions, since the island houses Pals ranging from level 30 to 50+.
At Feybreak, you’ll find Smokie scattered across the upper portion of the island. The map screenshot provided below shows Smokie’s location, denoted by orange markers. Notably, Smokie can be encountered both during day and night, giving players flexibility in their search for this Pal with no time constraints.
Smokie Work Suitability & Partner Skill, Explained
Smokie’s Partner Ability is called “Dig, Pup! Dig!” This command helps players locate Chromite more efficiently, as described further on.
- Dig, Dog! Dig: When activated, uses its sharp sense of smell to detect nearby Chromite. While fighting together, a large amount of Chromite is obtained.
Players will need to craft Smokie’s Harness to use Dig, Dog! Dig.
It turns out that Smokie isn’t ideal for most base jobs, but it shines in specific instances due to its special Dig, Dog! Dig! ability. However, Smokie can handle Gathering Tasks up to Level 2, helping collect crops near your base.
