Oda Set To Drop 4 Chapters in a Row
Chapters Dropped On January 19, January 26, February 2, and February 9
Over the past few months, the creator of One Piece manga, Eiichiro Oda, has been taking frequent breaks. In fact, last year saw more breaks in One Piece than at any time since it first started, many years ago. Although there are several reasons for this, what’s really exciting for fans is that they learned One Piece won’t be taking a break next week. This means Oda will release four consecutive chapters, which is quite rare these days. Typically, a break is now expected after every two to three chapters.
Out of these four chapters, two are already out, and two remain to be released.
The first of these four consecutive chapters came out on January 19, 2025 and it was called “One Piece” chapter 1136.)
Just released on Sunday, 26th January 2025, is the current chapter of One Piece, numbered 1137. This chapter concluded the One Piece series for the month of January.
The next installment of One Piece, numbered as 1138, is scheduled to be released on February 2nd, 2025, and it will air on Sunday.
In simple terms, the next installment of One Piece, number 1139, is expected to drop the following Sunday, specifically on February 9, 2025.
Looking ahead, it seems quite probable that I’ll witness a one-week hiatus from Oda’s work, though the official word hasn’t been given yet. This means that Chapter 1140 of One Piece might very well be the final instalment for February, set to release on February 23, 2025.
Why Has Oda Been Taking Many Breaks?
Year after year, Oda seems to be taking increasing amounts of time off, yet this may not always be a negative aspect. Given that he’s been dedicated to creating One Piece for nearly three decades, it’s only natural that he should take the occasional break, considering the demanding nature of being a mangaka.
Besides facing some personal health concerns, requiring rest, Eiichiro Oda took a break last year to contribute to the “One Piece” live-action production. Should there be additional seasons, his involvement is expected to increase, allowing him to take further breaks when necessary.
