In the game Necesse, the initial island where players start is merely a tiny portion of the broader world. Other islands scattered around can be accessed via boats, but only adventurous players who dare to explore beyond the boundaries of their starting settlement will find them.
Distinct islands provide various ecosystems and resources, useful for creating unique items and delving into the game’s mechanics. Moreover, diverse ecosystems often hide intricate cave networks for players to discover.
How to Create a Boat in Necesse
To explore various islands depicted on the map within this game, players need to create a boat first. This is one of the most basic items to construct in the entire game. Interestingly, you won’t require a Workstation for this; all you need is 10 Any Logs stored in your inventory. The beauty of it lies in its simplicity – players can craft it directly from their inventory without needing any additional tools or workstations, thanks to its straightforward recipe.
After creating it, players can select the boat and place it in their mount section. Pressing F (or any other default key) will release the mount, but only in water, not on land. To use it without designating it as a mount, they can put it in their hotbar instead, click left to deploy it, then board the boat. Navigating the boat employs the same controls as moving within the game.
How to Travel to Other Islands in Necesse
In simpler terms, you can access your map by pressing ‘M’, and when you select the World Map tab, you’ll find all the islands you’ve explored during your adventure. These islands are either those you’ve reached physically or those found using maps. To visit a specific island, simply pick its relative direction from where you currently are, then sail towards it on your boat. When you reach the borders of your current map, a message will appear, “Travel X Direction,” guiding you further.
Moving towards a specific area, such as south-east, will position the player on the northwestern islands within a 5×5 grid on the game’s world map. Each square in this grid represents an island. Players have access to travel to any of the 24 islands marked on their map. If you decide to move in one of the basic directions like East, West, North, or South, you will find yourself in the center of the edge of a 5×5 grid on the world map with your possible moves facing towards the chosen direction.
