7. Lin Beifong

- Bending Element: Earth
- Series: The Legend of Korra
In the storyline of The Legend of Korra, which unfolds after Aang’s demise and the emergence of a new Avatar, fans enjoy watching the offspring of their cherished characters in action. Lin Beifong, a significant figure, is actually the daughter of Toph, a character adored from The Last Airbender series.
Though her earth bending abilities pale in comparison to her mother’s, Lin remains a formidable earthbender, possessing seismic sensory skills and the ability to manipulate metal. She often takes a supporting role throughout Korra, making her a consistent character in the series.
6. Ty Lee
A Chi-Blocking Master

- Bending Element: N/A. Non-Bender
- Series: The Last Airbender
As a devoted fan of the Avatar series, I must say that Ty Lee stands out as a unique and captivating character. Unlike her indistinguishable sisters, she opted for a life outside the ordinary, joining the circus to find her own identity. Despite not being a bender, her agility and flexibility are so extraordinary that they pose a significant threat even to the strongest of benders. Her past as Azula’s ally adds an intriguing layer to her character, making Ty Lee a character worth watching in this epic saga.
In my perspective as a movie reviewer, this character showcases an extraordinary blend of agility and chi blocking, a skill that leaves benders powerless to bend. This makes her an intimidating adversary, particularly for those unaware of her chi blocking abilities. Post the betrayal of Azula and the end of the war, she chooses allegiance with the Kyoshi Warriors, adding another layer to her enigmatic persona.
5. Suki
The Kyoshi Warriors Leader

- Bending Element: N/A. Non-Bender
- Series: The Last Airbender
On Kyoshi Island lives Suki, the head of a warrior squad known as the Kyoshi Warriors. Their role is to safeguard the island, a responsibility established by Avatar Kyoshi herself. Aang, together with Katara and Sokka, have the opportunity to encounter Suki when they make their way to this very island.
Eventually, Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors departed from the island, only to surface significantly in the latter part of the series. They valiantly shielded Appa from Azula’s threats and ultimately rescued both Sokka and Toph.
4. Korra
The Last Avatar

- Bending Element: Water, Fire, Earth, Air (the Avatar)
- Series: The Legend of Korra
In the follow-up series to “The Last Airbender,” titled “The Legend of Korra,”, Korra serves as the central figure. She’s the reincarnated Avatar, emerging after the demise of Avatar Aang, and she encountered numerous obstacles throughout her storyline.
As the one and only Avatar apart from the original, Avatar Wan, it’s clear that her power is unparalleled. She was the unique one who conversed directly with Raava. However, her connection as an Avatar was severed, making her the final Avatar in Wan’s lineage, yet the pioneer among the new generation of Avatars. In this span of 10,000 years, she safeguarded the light that she inherited.
3. Azula
The Fire Nation’s Princess
- Bending Element: Fire
- Series: The Last Airbender
In the world of Avatar, Azula stands out as a captivating antagonist that leaves viewers torn between love and loathing. Throughout Aang’s journey, she frequently bested him and his allies in their confrontations. Uniquely, she was the one to kill the Avatar while in the Avatar state; however, Katara’s intervention saved him from certain death.
Her ability to manipulate fire is so advanced that she produces blue flames, a feat unmatched by others. The battle between her, Zuko, and Katara, known as the Agni Kai, is an epic confrontation that fans will always remember vividly.
2. Katara
A Master Waterbender
- Bending Element: Water
- Series: The Last Airbender
In “The Last Airbender,” Katara is among the initial characters that viewers meet. Accompanied by her brother, Sokka, she embarks on a journey with Aang, teaching him to master the four elements and ultimately confront Fire Lord Ozai.
Initially, Katara’s water bending abilities are quite crude. Yet, she swiftly progresses to the level of a mastery in water bending and instructs Aang on how to manipulate water. She has grasped numerous facets of water, and she can even apply Bloodbending, an ability that she disapproves of.
1. Toph Beifong
The Blind Bandit

- Bending Element: Earth
- Series: The Last Airbender
Without a doubt, Toph is among Avatar’s most cherished characters of all time. Her abilities as an earthbender are nothing short of remarkable, earning her the reputation as the strongest earthbender to have ever existed – and this was when she was just 12 years old!
Despite being blind, Toph’s strength is amplified rather than weakened. Her unique ability to perceive her surroundings via her seismic senses sets her apart. Remarkably, she developed an exceptional form of earth bending known as Metal Bending.
