The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle PC Specs—How To Play The Sims 1 and 2

Electronic Arts (EA) has unveiled and made available the remastered versions of both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2, as part of the “The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle”. This collection includes the original games, all their expansions and downloadable content, now playable on contemporary computers for current players.

To run the games smoothly on your system, you don’t necessarily require a powerhouse computer. However, there will be some improvements such as a revamped rendering engine and flexible pixel resolution scaling for larger screens. So, exactly how up-to-date does your PC need to be?

According to EA, even computers as recent as 2012 can run both The Sims 1 and 2. For graphics, the system needs to be at least as powerful as an Nvidia GTX 600 or AMD Radeon HD 7000. In terms of CPU, either an AMD FX6300 or Intel i3 3220 is sufficient. And don’t worry about storage space, as the games won’t require a lot of it.
