Silent Hill 2 Helps Konami Establish Record-Breaking Profits
According to a Japanese publication called GameBiz (as reported by Automaton), it’s stated that the successful launches of games, notably the remake of Silent Hill 2, helped Konami to reach unprecedented profits during the third quarter of 2024.
The remake of Silent Hill 2, created by Bloober Team, has now sold over one million copies since its release, and this week, the publisher revealed that a total of two million copies have been distributed globally (including physical and digital sales). Additionally, Konami’s strong quarter can be attributed to their sports games, like Professional Baseball Spirits 2024-2025, and the free-to-play game eFootball.
For the past nine months, Konami’s gaming division has reported a net sales figure of approximately 228.9 billion Japanese yen, marking a 32% increase compared to the same period last year. This equates to roughly 1.475 trillion US dollars. Meanwhile, the operating profit for this sector has grown by 44.6%, reaching nearly 80.8 billion Japanese yen, or approximately 520.7 million US dollars.
For the period spanning April to December 2024, which marks the initial nine months of Konami’s fiscal year ending in March 2025, here are the combined financial figures.
