In “Freedom Wars Remastered,” players find themselves serving an extreme prison term of one million years. They are presented with a stark decision: either accept defeat and perish within the confines of this prison, or step onto the battlefield and wage a fierce struggle for survival.
In a bleak future society, Freedom Wars Remastered storyline regards existence itself as the gravest crime, labeling it the supreme transgression. To endure and ultimately break free, associates are not merely an option; they are indispensable. The player has full discretion over who joins their group, with each associate excelling in different areas.
1. Wolf
Kai Silva
In the game Freedom Wars: Remastered, the character known as Wolf, whose real name is Kai Silva, belongs to the Healing Thorn Type. His weapons of choice are the EZ Falke II for melee combat and the SR-42/LA for accessories. Interestingly, despite being a solitary figure in the game, he’s often referred to as Wolf because of his lone wolf status, yet he is considered an exceptional companion by numerous players.
1) In the game, Kai and Nina are longtime pals of the main character. The main character initially encounters Kai at a social gathering. Wolf serves as an indispensable guide, offering secrets, hints, tips, and tricks to the player if they opt for him as a comrade.
2. Leopard
Billy Koller
A leopard is known for being quite spirited and full of life among the game’s characters, and many players enjoy including him on their team because of his clever jokes and fashionable appearance.
Under his alias Billy Koller, the character known as Leopard belongs to the Shield Thorn class and boasts an impressive physical strength in close combat, providing players with a twofold advantage when he joins them on their quest.
3. Charm
Ann Vittoz
Among all game companions, Charm (originally known as Ann Vittoz), boasting medium melee strength and a potent Healer Thorn Type, is undeniably popular. She’s incredibly outgoing and friendly, creating a stark contrast with the enigmatic Wolf. When players opt to team them up, Charm often manages to coax Wolf from his naturally reserved demeanor.
Charme and her sibling, Hal, possess essential gear for the players’ objective upon reaching CODE 5. Given this, Charme often becomes a favored partner for the main character.
4. Lilium
Beatrice Anastassi
Beatrice Anastasi, often called Lilium, deviated from the usual path of companions chosen by players in a unique way. Whilst she was yet dwelling among the heavens, seeking her father, the innocent and youthful Lilum encountered the lives of Sinners. She soon embraced this lifestyle. Opting for Lilium as an ally for the protagonist will provide significant advantage when navigating the Hourai Panopticon. The enigmatic Casket within requires Lilium’s Will-O energy to unlock.
In a gentle, melee-focused manner and with an unyielding Healer’s spirit akin to Thorn Type, Lilium is constantly seeking her missing father, Cesare. When players opt to have her as a companion, Lilium will do her best to aid in every way, yet she will always prioritize searching for signs of her father’s whereabouts concurrently.
5. Sakamoto
Elfriede Cabrera
Elfriede “Sakamoto” Cabrera possesses a notable high physical melee power and a Shield Thorn combat type. Serving as an Attack Sinner, Sakamoto is known to be the daughter of another possible ally, Uwe. Given her strong bond with her mother, she undeniably stands out as the most mature character in the group.
In the game, she and her father both employ gauntlets as their weapons, which the player currently can’t obtain, but they can use the flare knife instead. Additionally, characters like Sakamoto, Natalie, Carlos, Beatrice, Uwe, and Mattias cannot be generated with the Character Editor by the player; therefore, you must select her as a companion or risk not having them in your party.
6. Alma
Marie Milan
Marie Milan, also known as Alma, possesses moderate combat power and falls under the Shield Thorn category. While being sociable yet reserved, Alma displays a keen interest in battle weaponry. When a player selects her as a companion, it appears that she effortlessly acquires upgrades more frequently.
Instead of Alma being a beneficial ally to the protagonist with numerous advantages, she primarily serves to eliminate the requirement for a specific command during gameplay. Specifically, when players must either rescue or escort citizens to the Extraction Point, having Alma in the party eliminates the need for the Protect Citizens command. Unlike other potential companions, Marie Milan can be customized using the Character Editor and noteworthy is that Shiina Natsukawa provides her voice throughout the series.
7. Regina
Nina Diaz
Nina “Regina” Diaz, characterized by her Binding Thorn Type and moderate melee power, typically operates as an offensive class standard. Despite often finding herself in challenging situations, she maintains a positive demeanor. Nina takes pleasure in forming connections with other characters, presenting quite the opposite persona to Kai.
In the arena of battles, Regina truly excels, particularly in hand-to-hand skirmishes. Furthermore, an interesting aspect to note is that if players decide to include Regina among their party members, she consistently endeavors to resuscitate them whenever she can.
8. Leo
Mattias Bruno
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but sing the praises of Leo, also known as Mattias Bruno, in Freedom Wars: Remastered. This dynamic character is a crowd favorite, not just because of his formidable melee strength and Healer Thorn Type, but also due to his unique personality. As a relatively fresh Sinner, Leo straddles the line between friend and foe for the player’s protagonist.
In the midst of our shared struggles as CODE 2 sinners, Leo stumbles upon a rumor about a spectral girl imprisoned within the Cell Garden on Level 2. This intriguing tidbit, along with his complex and thought-provoking relationship with the player’s character, makes Mattias Bruno the undisputed choice for the most popular companion in the game.
By selecting Leo as one of the main character’s trusted allies, you’ll find it easier to enhance weapons swiftly and expedite your entry into the Cell Garden. In case you need help with the decisive challenge prior to CODE 3 promotion, having Leo by your side will amplify the retaliation using the Panoticon system.
