Just as anticipated, the Space-Time Smackdown expansion has unveiled a fresh Drop Event in Pokemon Pocket, showcasing the intriguing Cresselia ex. Players are quickly drawing parallels between this card and another potent offering from the expansion, Darkrai ex, due to their comparable effects. The unique trait of Cresselia ex is that it recovers 20 HP each time a Psychic-type Energy is attached to it, reminiscent of how Darkrai ex inflicts 20 damage on the opponent’s Active Pokemon whenever it acquires a Darkness-type Energy.
In this write-up, we’ll delve into the specifics of the Cresselia drop event, similar to past events but with important differences to keep in mind. We’ll introduce the fresh cards from Promo-A Vol. 4 packs, and suggest top-performing Pokemon Pocket decks for meeting this temporary mission.
In a more conversational style: Let’s explore the Cresselia drop event, similar yet unique to past ones. Here, we’ll show you the new cards from Promo-A Vol. 4 packs and recommend the best decks from Pokemon Pocket for taking on this limited-time challenge!
Cresselia ex Drop Event Details
- Start: February 2, 2025 (10:00 PM PST)
- End: February 16, 2025 (9:59 PM PST)
- Type: Solo Battles
- Featured Rewards: Cresselia ex card
In the single-player activity of the Pokemon Pocket game titled “Cresselia Drop Event,” players engage in battles against AI opponents across four levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert. Winning these encounters may lead to receiving Promo-A Vol. 4 booster packs as a reward, which include five fresh cards.
As I level up and face tougher opponents, my chances of snagging those coveted booster packs significantly rise. In the early stages of gaming, I’ve got about a 51% shot at scoring a Promo-A pack. But as I climb the ranks to intermediate, the odds improve to a more promising 64%. Advanced matches really amp up my chances, offering an 80% likelihood of a pack drop. Only when I conquer the expert tier do I guarantee myself a pack upon victory, with a sweet 100% drop rate!
Difficulty | Promo-A Pack Drop Rate |
---|---|
Beginner | 51% |
Intermediate | 64% |
Advanced | 80% |
Expert | 100% |
Promo-A Pack Vol. 4 Cards and Drop Rates
Promo-A Vol. 4 Card | Card Number | Drop Drate |
---|---|---|
Turtwig | Promo-A #35 | 23.84% |
Electivire | Promo-A #36 | 15.82% |
Cresselia ex | Promo-A #37 | 12.66% |
Misdreavus | Promo-A #38 | 23.84% |
Skarmory | Promo-A #39 | 23.84% |
During the Cresselia Drop Event in Pokemon Pocket, five fresh cards will make their appearance: the star of the event, Cresselia ex, as well as Electivire, Turtwig, Skarmory, and Misdreavus. Notably, only Cresselia ex and Misdreavus will come with new skills, while the remaining cards are just new versions of previously issued ones from the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, featuring updated artwork.
In a new twist, the updated Promo-A Misdreavus swaps out its original Mumble skill for the Confuse Ray ability. Unlike Mumble, Confuse Ray causes the opponent to become confused without any additional damage infliction. However, both its HP and retreat cost remain the same as in the Space-Time Smackdown version.
Cresselia ex Drop Event Missions and Rewards
At the event, each task within the challenge offers between 2 and 5 optional missions, referred to as Battle Tasks. These extra missions provide extra incentives. The following tables detail the specifications and compensations for each mission.
Beginner Battle Missions
Mission | Reward |
---|---|
Knock out an enemy with a Darkness-type Pokemon | 3 Event Hourglasses |
Play three Basic Pokemon | 3 Event Hourglasses |
Intermediate Battle Missions
Mission | Reward |
---|---|
Knock out two enemies with a Darkness-type Pokemon | 3 Event Hourglasses |
Play a Stage 1 Pokemon | 3 Event Hourglasses |
Win by turn 14 | 3 Event Hourglasses |
Advanced Battle Missions

Win by turn 14 | 4 Wonder Hourglasses |

Expert Battle Missions

Win this battle 20 times | 4 Wonder Hourglasses |
A more efficient approach for completing Farming Battle Tasks is to employ the “conceding strategy”: start a battle, accomplish as numerous tasks as you can, and then yield the match prior to achieving victory. By doing so, you’ll receive all extra Battle Task rewards without using any Event Stamina.
The Best Deck for the Cresselia ex Drop Event
For this occasion, a deck focusing on Darkness-type Pokémon like Scolipede and Weezing would be optimal. Since all other Solo mode decks in the event are Psychic-type, a Darkness strategy can effortlessly overpower them. This setup is also effective for completing Battle Tasks, as certain missions demand defeating opponents using Pokémon of the Darkness type.
You can also go with an Arbok & Weezing deck if you are missing any Scolipede lineup cards.
