CS2 Caster Rages at Liquid Player’s ‘Inexcusable’ Misplay

During the heat of IEM Katowice, a major tournament within the annual Counter-Strike 2 circuit, a color commentator became so frustrated by a professional player’s error that he felt compelled to vent his anger aloud. Overwhelmed, he needed to step away from the broadcast desk for some composure.

At IEM Katowice, one of the biggest CS2 tournaments, an excited commentator had to calm down after getting upset at a pro player’s mistake and took a break from his commentary.

The player experienced an incredibly disappointing run, with a particularly disastrous move standing out as the worst among many subpar performances.

‘WHAT ARE YOU DOING?’

In a game between Team Liquid and The MongolZ, Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak from Team Liquid made an unfortunate move that upset former player and long-time CS2 commentator Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill. During the defense of the B site on Mirage in the opening round, ultimate hesitated too much before firing his weapon, resulting in a teammate’s death before he was eliminated himself. SPUNJ and his co-caster Alex “Machine” Richardson were quite displeased, but SPUNJ expressed his full disappointment.

Ultimate intended to lie low until several opponents moved past him, allowing him to defeat them rapidly in a row. Unfortunately, he hesitated for too long, letting the initial player go, which resulted in that player killing his teammate. By the time ultimate prepared for the second enemy, the first one had spotted him and swiftly eliminated him.

In the previous map, Ultimate’s subpar performance likely triggered SPUNJ’s outburst, as he had a low kill-to-death ratio (0.5) in the initial match of the series. This disappointing result, with Liquid having an extra player, was labeled “unforgivable” by SPUNJ, leading him to step away from the casting desk during the second round. However, by the end of the third round, both SPUNJ and Machine regained their composure.

In a turn of events unfavorable to team Liquid during their ultimate match, they suffered a loss despite winning the first map, which was one of their poorest performances statistically for ultimate. However, there’s a silver lining: ultimate stepped up his game against MOUZ the following day, and team Liquid remains in contention at Katowice.
