It’s clear that the majority of the games on this list are from the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter series. This isn’t surprising since both franchises have a wide fan base due to their popularity.
It’s worth noting that the initial sales of Street Fighter 6 appear to have declined sharply, reaching just 300,000, despite having already sold a total of 4.4 million units. For a fighting game, this is still a considerable figure.
Regarding the future of Resident Evil, Capcom has confirmed that they are working on RE9, but have been silent about it since then. We’re eagerly waiting for any updates on this project in 2023. Additionally, a new movie based on the franchise is being produced by Zach Cregger, known for his work on Barbarian. He intends to keep the films true to their original source material.
If you haven’t experienced Resident Evil 4 yet, there’s a compelling explanation for why this remake has sold more than nine million copies. It isn’t just nostalgia; the game is exceptionally well-crafted. Meanwhile, Open Critic boasts an impressive “Mighty” rating, with over 98% of reviewers recommending it.
