‘Battlefield Portal’ is Returning to The Next Battlefield With Classic Maps

As an eager player, I’m thrilled to share that the much-loved Battlefield Portal from Battlefield 2042 is set to make a comeback in the upcoming game! The developers at DICE have officially confirmed this exciting news.

Information about the upcoming Battlefield game’s reintroduction of the Portal game mode was shared by YouTuber Flakfire in his most recent video. This YouTuber had an exclusive early look at the Battlefield Labs reveal last week and reported that the developers have confirmed this feature return, which includes classic maps, weapons, and more integrated into the new game.

In the briefing, we learned something quite exciting – it was confirmed that Portal will come back as part of the upcoming Battlefield game,” he explained.

“Portal could be one of those slices tested under the Battlefield Labs program,” he theorised.

Essentially, Battlefield Labs serves as a Community Preview Arena, enabling players to share their insights on particular elements of the upcoming Battlefield game, as well as potential downloadable content down the line.

Earlier in the video, Flakfire mentioned that individuals joining the Battlefield Labs program would be bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). However, this likely won’t prevent them from posting videos or disclosing information.

The title of the upcoming Battlefield game hasn’t been disclosed yet (if it’s simply called Battlefield), but what we know is that it will be available exclusively on current-gen consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC platforms. As per EA, the game is expected to launch later in this year.

It’s yet unknown when we’ll hear about Ripple Effect’s Battlefield Battle Royale game, a project they’ve been working on for two years. This information was first shared by TopMob back in early 2024.
