Chapter 1138 of One Piece unveiled a wealth of intriguing details for fans, with most eyes drawn to the mural in Elbaf and the deciphering of the Harley Texts. However, a lesser-noticed yet equally captivating aspect was the segment focusing on Shamrock Figarland.

For the first time ever, spectators watched Shamrock unveil his abilities, although what was shown barely scratched the surface of his full potential. In a nutshell, Shamrock stated that he prefers not to engage in direct combat, instead entrusting his task to Cerberus, his enigmatic sword. The Cerberus appears to be an extremely fascinating weapon and could potentially rank among the strongest swords ever presented in “One Piece”.

Shamrock Figarland Reveals His Sword Cerberus

In chapter 1138 of One Piece, viewers were given their initial glimpse into the abilities of Shamrock Figarland. This character had been shrouded in secrecy for some time, and fans speculated whether or not he would display his powers during the confrontation with Loki. With the baiting by the Cursed Prince of Elbaf, Shamrock demonstrated his true potential, later making an attempt to dominate the land of Elbaf so that he can accomplish his assignment for the World Government.

You’re right. He’s not worth dirtying my hands on. You do it, Cerberus! — Shamrock

When Loki mentioned Shanks to Shamrock, Shamrock made it clear that he was the elder twin and had left Marijoa because he had developed a liking for the underworld after his return. Loki retorted by saying he’d earned his anger, just like Shanks, and harbored resentment against the entire family. When asked about earning his anger, Shamrock perceived it as a threat and summoned his sword, Cerberus. He declared he didn’t wish to engage in violence himself but spoke to his sword instead. Soon, black flames emerged from the sword, followed by a dog head. As more heads appeared, it became evident to viewers that the sword contained the power of Cerberus.

Shamrock employed the sword’s potency on Loki, inflicting severe injuries and demonstrating the immense might of the blade to all present. What makes this more astonishing is that this was merely a hint of Shamrock’s full potential; there’s more power to be unleashed in the future encounters with either Luffy or Loki. However, even the slightest glimpse of Shamrock’s abilities shown so far is sufficient to establish them as an exceptionally powerful sword user.

Cerberus’s Devil Fruit/Mythical Beast Ability

Shamrock’s Blade Holds Tremendous Power

As soon as Shamrock unsheathed his sword before the audience, it was undeniably evident that this weapon was exceptionally powerful. The Cerberus, a legendary creature guarding the gates of the underworld, is its own mythical entity, and this sword possesses such powers, making it extremely rare for any weapon in the world of One Piece. Given that Sabo referred to Marijoa as being like hell on top of the world, the role of this blade as a guardian seems fitting. Shamrock’s position as the guardian highlights his significance, not only within Elbaf but also in the larger context of the story.

Whenever the mood strikes you, seek me out and engage in a confrontation if you so choose. Should you emerge victorious from our encounter, that will be the case.

The Cerberus sword possesses some thrilling abilities. Notably, it has the capacity to materialize an entire Cerberus from itself, enhancing the combat potential of its wielder. In a recent event, Shamrock summoned a Cerberus and commanded it to assault Loki. However, the creature didn’t attack in its usual manner. Instead, Shamrock made it split into three heads that soared towards Loki. Each head then manifested a sword, demonstrating the sword’s unusual form, being a fusion of the weapon and the beast. These three swords were enveloped in dark flames and they ended up penetrating Loki’s chest.

The force of these swords was so immense that Loki thought he’d be on the brink of death upon being struck by them, and indeed, they all managed to wound him severely. As a result, he carried these injuries throughout the rest of the storyline.

I find it intriguing to point out a possible interpretation: The way Oda has depicted Cerberus suggests that its power isn’t derived from a Devil Fruit, but rather from a Mythical Beast, much like the Yokai given to the Five Elders. There are striking similarities between them, such as the production of black flames and the presence of black cloud rings around them. What stands out most, however, is that they all bear beast names instead of Devil Fruit names. This could imply that the sword’s power was bestowed upon it by a mythical beast rather than being consumed by a Devil Fruit.

Why Cerberus May Be Connected To Imu

Cerberus Is Not Shown To Be A Devil Fruit Ability

The theory that the Cerberus sword is linked to Imu is quite substantial. To put it simply, unlike a Devil Fruit, this sword seems to hold the power of a mythical creature instead. It’s reasonable to assume that Imu, who appears to possess multiple powers, bestowed this ability upon the sword. In essence, Imu has the capability to grant powers not only to individuals but also to objects. This notion was explicitly confirmed by Oda when he revealed that Imu took away Saturn’s immortality and powers at the end of Egghead, indicating that both of those abilities were given to him directly by Imu.

If Shamrock’s sword shares a comparable strength with the Five Elders’ weapons, it could reasonably be inferred that the sword was imbued with magical powers by none other than Imu. It is plausible that Imu bestowed these special abilities onto the sword and passed it on to Shamrock, either directly or through a Figarland loyal to Imu. This revelation adds complexity to both Shamrock and the Holy Knights. It’s conceivable that Shamrock is aware of Imu’s existence, and his role as a guard extends beyond protecting the entire government; he may be specifically safeguarding Imu. Furthermore, it’s possible that all Holy Knights have been imbued with powers by Imu, considering Gunko’s arrows seem to originate from Imu too, given that was what Imu used to kill Cobra and Sabo.

The tension is mounting by the moment in “One Piece,” leaving fans on tenterhooks, eagerly anticipating what’s coming up from Oda next. This anticipation stems from curiosity about Shamrock Figarland and his powers, as well as the link between the Holy Knights and Imu that is slowly being unveiled.
