Unlocking Injustice 3: How Mortal Kombat’s Secret Fight Could Change Everything!

The initial release of Mortal Kombat 1 wasn’t without its bumps in the post-launch phase. While the two Kombat Packs introduced some fantastic new characters, the period following the launch also included controversies related to microtransactions, uninspiring seasonal content, and a weak story expansion. However, Mortal Kombat 1 has recently introduced something that’s reinvigorated the community.

Next to Conan the Barbarian, the game Mortal Kombat 1 now offers a “hidden” boss battle against a pink ninja named Floyd. This secret fight can be triggered by completing 10 out of 37 potential challenges, which are different for each player. Once you’ve completed 10 challenges, your game will suddenly end, the screen will split, and you’ll be transported to the field from Mortal Kombat 1’s first trailer, where Floyd is already there. This secret boss fight is a fun extra feature in Mortal Kombat 1, and it’s an idea that Injustice 3 could fully adopt.

Injustice 3 Should Embrace Mortal Kombat’s Secret Pink Floyd Fight

Injustice 3 Could Use Secret Encounters to Reference Elseworlds Characters

Injustice 3 could draw inspiration from the secret fight in Mortal Kombat 1, to introduce a diverse array of Elseworld characters who may not have had a chance to fully join the franchise as playable fighters. For example, iconic alternate universe versions such as Batman from Gotham by Gaslight, Superman from Red Son, steampunk Wonder Woman from Wonder Woman: Amazonia, and the Wild West Justice League of Justice Riders.

In the next installment of “Injustice”, these alternate universe heroes might be secretly embedded, similar to Floyd. To access a boss battle against each one, players would need to conquer certain tasks specifically designed for that Elseworld character. These tasks could be tailored to the unique storylines of each character, like unlocking Gotham by Gaslight’s Batman after vanquishing all enemies wielding knives as Batman, a tribute to the comic’s Jack the Ripper theme.

As a comics enthusiast, it’s exhilarating to envision the secret Elseworlds battles within stages that mirror the original comic settings. For example, I can hardly wait to engage in combat as Red Son Superman on a Soviet-era Moscow stage, or battle it out as Batman Beyond in a Neo-Gotham setting straight out of the comics.

In the past, the “Injustice” series has explored the concept of the multiverse, and even utilized it in the background of challenge modes in its second installment. Therefore, it appears that including clandestine battles against Elseworlds versions could be a fitting extension for the next game in the series.

How Secret Encounters in Injustice 3 Could Feel Rewarding

Additionally, uncovering secret Elseworlds battles in hypothetical Injustice 3 could offer players an abundance of in-game rewards similar to the rich bounty gained from beating Floyd in Mortal Kombat 1. Overcoming Floyd in the initial Mortal Kombat game grants the player access to the Field-Sunset stage, several Legendary pink skins for Scorpion and Sub-Zero, as well as a few Kombat Kard backgrounds.

In the game Injustice 3, conquering Elseworlds bosses should provide players with a wealth of rewards, which could include character skins inspired by Elseworlds, a distinctive battle stage, and additional cosmetics that reflect the variant hero or villain. If moves from Mortal Kombat 11 are incorporated into Injustice 3, it would be exciting to allow characters to unlock attacks inspired by these Elseworlds variants, such as giving Flash the capacity to wield a six-shooter like in the game Justice Riders.
