World’s Edge Studio has shared the news that both remastered versions of Age of Mythology and the definitive edition of Age of Empires 2 will be available on the PlayStation 5.
The announcement came via a blog post on the games’ website detailing what’s to come in 2025.
Michael Mann announced that Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Mythology: Retold are coming to PlayStation 5, allowing fans to play wherever they prefer. This cross-platform gameplay is a significant development for our franchise, as it aims to unite the Age community. It’s not just about ease of access; it’s about expanding and fortifying the Age family. With cross-play, we’re establishing one worldwide battleground where every strategy, empire, and player makes a difference.

Starting March 4, Age of Mythology: Retold will debut on PS5. The release of Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is scheduled for this spring. Pre-ordering the Premium Edition of Age of Mythology: Retold grants early access to the game on February 27, along with the Immortal Pillars expansion and two exclusive blessings for the Arena of the Gods mode. Further details about Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will be revealed at a later time.
