After Kingdom Come Deliverance (year 2018), Henry rides his faithful steed, Pebbles. At first glance, Pebbles might not be the most striking or agile horse, but she holds a special place in the series and has a sentimental value to Henry. So, when given the chance in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, would you consider switching out Pebbles?
In this tutorial, I’ll show you the steps to acquire your initial steed in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and discuss if it’s advisable to swap out Pebbles once you manage to locate her.
Where is Pebbles?
In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, players initially embark on their journey accompanied by Pebbles. However, a series of unfortunate events transpire, resulting in Henry being left without a horse.
Not for long, though.
After finishing the initial stages, your goal should be to swiftly move towards Semine. Following your escape from Troskowitz’s stocks, approach Bara, the woman in red attire, who will provide a hint about locating a horse. She advises you to visit the stables in Semine for this purpose.
Should you choose to head towards that spot, you’ll find yourself in a picture-perfect setting boasting a stable. Upon closer inspection of the horses there, you might find something unusual – one of them goes by the name of Pebbles.
After locating Pebbles, your next step is to approach Groom Ballatay, either by negotiating to purchase Pebbles or persuading him to return them without charge. This task may involve overcoming one or more speech hurdles, and you’ll need to successfully argue that he should act reasonably in order to retrieve Pebbles.
Should You Replace Pebbles?
If you’re questioning whether to swap out Pebbles, it saddens me to see such a thought cross your mind. After all she’s been through, it seems unfair to consider discarding her so quickly.
Here is the major reason why you don’t want to replace Pebbles in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2:
- Eventually, you’ll unlock the ‘Good Old Pebbles’ perk, which boosts Pebbles’ skills immeasurably after a few hours of relying on her to get around. This makes her better than almost any horse you can buy.
If you’re not satisfied with Pebbles’ appearance, you have the option to personalize her by choosing various options such as coats, covers, bridles, and saddles at a tailor or saddler.
After obtaining Pebbles, ensure that you’re shooting it from atop a horse using the most effective long-range weapon available within the game.
