The role-playing scene in Grand Theft Auto, particularly GTA 5, has been instrumental in keeping the game popular for such a long period. A quick glance at Twitch will show you that GTA 5 consistently ranks high in the charts, and this popularity is largely due to the thriving ‘GTA RP’ community. These servers provide a more engaging experience, enabling players to take on jobs, join groups, and essentially live out virtual lives within modified environments.
Popular livestreamers have relished the number of spectators they’ve amassed while delving into the Grand Theft Auto Roleplay universe. Now, one of the most active content creators in this sphere, Adin Ross, has teamed up with FaZe Banks, and together they aim to establish a GTA 6 Roleplay server that will be funded by cryptocurrency. As players engage in gameplay, they’ll have an opportunity to ‘collect’ this digital currency.
But Probably Not
In a recent live broadcast, Adin Ross and FaZe Banks shared their concept for GTA 6 Role Play (RP), explaining their aim to establish a game server connected through a token system. This system would enable players to generate income while participating in GTA 6’s online multiplayer mode.
Adin Ross explained:
When GTA 6 launches, Rick and I plan to collaborate on setting up an enormous gaming server. Our goal is to create something extraordinary, and I assure you, it will have a strong focus on cryptocurrency – every aspect of it will be positively related to the crypto world.
The new GTA 6 is set to revolutionize the gaming experience as Rockstar Games has reportedly purchased FiveM, ensuring a role-playing (RP) focused gameplay for players.
I’ll have the best and biggest server, I promise you I will.
We’re going to put a lot of money into it.
This is my passion.
At present, Rockstar Games encourages and nurtures the modding and role-play communities that thrive within the Grand Theft Auto series. Yet, it’s important to note that Rockstar Games does not permit the integration of cryptocurrencies on any GTA RP servers currently available. This is a significant challenge for Adin Ross and FaZe Banks in their planning.

Historically, ventures combining games, blockchain technology, NFTs, or cryptocurrencies have not been successful in their initial attempts. For instance, Ubisoft attempted to establish an NFT marketplace for Ghost Recon, but it ultimately failed. More recently, Midnight Society – the developers behind DEADROP, a game backed by NFTs – announced they were closing down their studio.
The most devoted Grand Theft Auto Roleplay enthusiasts lead virtual existences on the platform. They maintain employment, earn in-game income, purchase and personalize homes, socialize with friends, and even face penalties from the police when they engage in illegal activities. This entire experience unfolds within a realm inhabited by other players.
As an ardent fan, I’m confident that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a massive hit when it launches. However, if history serves as any indication, a robust Role-Playing (RP) ecosystem might not materialize until a few years following its release on the open market.
