In the latest snapshots and trailers for the HBO series, it appears that the creative team is striving for a similar replication, but one character seems to deviate from fans’ expectations. Abby Anderson, the co-protagonist of “Part 2” portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever, presents a noticeably different appearance compared to her game counterpart, as her muscular physique has been significantly softened in the adaptation. Druckmann stated, “There is a quite prominent character that is frequently discussed in the game, much like what we did with Frank [Murray Bartlett] in season 1, who appears in this season.” Although neither Druckmann nor Craig Mazin revealed any further information about this elusive character or their potential actor, fans believe they’ve made some educated guesses.

On the Reddit page dedicated to the HBO series “The Last of Us,” fans were asked who they thought this significant character might be, and the majority opinion was that it could only be the Seraphite Prophet. For those who haven’t experienced “The Last of Us Part 2,” the prophet played a crucial role in forming the Seraphite cult and claimed to understand why the Cordyceps infection had ravaged society. Before her demise, her captivating sermons brainwashed the community members, leading them to believe that the infection was a punishment for human sin, making the virus a second opportunity for people to seek redemption.
