In simpler terms, Iron Galaxy Studios, famous for creating Rumbleverse and porting The Last of Us onto PC platforms, recently made the difficult decision to lay off 66 employees due to unavoidable circumstances.
In a LinkedIn post, the studio admitted that they’ve had to make tough decisions, prioritizing their team’s unity over other aspects, in an attempt to stay afloat. Regrettably, these actions weren’t enough to ensure long-term sustainability, prompting the subsequent changes.
They expressed their wish that we could exit this prolonged winter together with everyone who has joined our team along the way. However, regretfully, we must disclose today that we’ve reached a point where there’s no more space to adapt during this gradual recovery.
Today, Iron Galaxy is letting go of several team members from the development and support departments. In all, this affects 66 employees. This difficult decision was made as a last resort to ensure our continued operation in the future. It’s a move we don’t make lightly.
Currently, Iron Galaxy Studios employs approximately 270 people, with about 66 of them making up almost a quarter of the company’s total workforce.
The studio reaffirms its dedication to assisting its game development partners, while simultaneously exploring fresh avenues to bolster the gaming industry.
Currently, our attention is directed towards our colleagues embarking on a new professional chapter. We appreciate their time with us and will do our utmost to assist them in finding their next career step.
