In a fresh and engaging reinterpretation, Hogwarts Legacy elevates the beloved Harry Potter universe with its sprawling open-world environment, hidden treasures, and an abundance of main and side missions. This richly layered gameplay appeals not only to dedicated Potterheads but also to gamers who may have been previously uninterested in the Harry Potter series.
Regarding the four Hogwarts Houses, the phrase “Slytherin house, where it proclaims ‘Slytherin guides you towards greatness,'” encapsulates its essence. Whether individuals have been sorted into Slytherin on Pottermore or aspire to portray a darker, more cunning character in the Wizarding World, here are some methods they can embrace Hogwarts Legacy with genuine Slytherin spirit.
5. Choose To Release Ancient Magic
Be Like Isidora
At the heart of the tale in Hogwarts Legacy, the main character’s relationship with Ancient Magic is a key aspect, which can be tapped into in various locations such as villages, along the coast, and deep within caves. When facing off against the formidable goblin Ranrok during combat, Professor Fig poses a question to the protagonist: should they choose to preserve the secret origin of this Ancient Magic or risk using it like Isidora Morganach did in years past, unleashing its power upon the world.
Despite this interaction not affecting the outcome immediately, the choice you make here will determine your character’s future actions within the game. As a Slytherin, there’s only one sensible option to choose.
4. Join The Hustle
Get Rich Quick
The main character, being the present protector of the Magical Realm, cannot afford to undertake optional missions for other characters simply due to kindness. It’s advisable for players to request some form of remuneration whenever a task or quest is successfully completed on behalf of the initial requester.
In the mission titled “Demanding Delivery,” if players take on the task of delivering an Invisibility Potion from J. Pippin’s Potions to Fatimah Lewang in Keenbridge, they will only receive 300 Galleons if they don’t ask for more payment initially. However, should they request additional compensation (which seems reasonable), Pippin will reward them with 500 Galleons instead. To put it simply, a character from Slytherin House wouldn’t tolerate a miserly quest-giver who doesn’t offer fair rewards.
3. Support Sebastian No Matter What
A True Slytherin Student
Regardless of how they decide to play Hogwarts Legacy, the character they control, a new fifth-year student, will develop friendships with Natsai Onai from Gryffindor and Sebastian Sallow from Slytherin. To fully embody a true Slytherin, players should aim to interact with Sebastian as often as possible. For instance, when Professor Weasley asks who the player would like to accompany them on a trip to Hogsmeade Village, choosing Sebastian is a good way to foster this relationship.
Without a doubt, Sebastian is a deeply tormented figure, pushed close to madness as he tirelessly pursues a remedy for his sister Ann’s agonizing curse, bestowed upon her by goblins. There are plenty of chances for players to challenge or back Omis, but for those who wish to truly embody the spirit of a Slytherin student, Sebastian is the one to choose. As the game reaches its conclusion, players have the option to either expose Sebastian’s actions or remain silent and let him continue his stay at Hogwarts.
2. Steal From The Merpeople
Mer-ky Depths Quest
While wandering through Hogwarts, it’s easy to overlook the Boathouse, and many players do. If you fail to visit it, you’ll miss out on meeting Nerida Roberts. Nerida is a Slytherin student, much like herself, who, along with Imelda Reyes, achieved great success during their green-robed years at Hogwarts. Nerida is deeply committed to the rights of Merpeople and feels strongly that if centaurs and goblins have a voice in the Ministry of Magic, then so should those living underwater.
In the “Mer-Ky Depths” mission, at the boathouse, the player encounters Nerida who shares that she’s just given a present to the Merpeople on the Black Lake’s edge and learned they reciprocated, but since she can’t swim, she needs help retrieving it. Initially, you could tell her it’s a futile effort, but then offer assistance anyway. Once players recover the Mermish Artifact, they should inform her that they plan to keep it. They may then celebrate having outsmarted a fellow Slytherin.
1. Learn The Unforgivable Curses
The Ultimate Slytherin Choice
In the game “Hogwarts Legacy,” one of the most Slytherin-like actions, significantly shaping your overall experience, involves making a deliberate choice to master the three Unforgivable Spells: The Imperius Curse (Imperio), the Cruciatus Curse (Crucio) and the Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra).
As a cunning Slytherin, players may be eager to accept Sebastian’s tutelage on these spells. But if they accidentally respond improperly initially, don’t fret, for Sebastian will later provide them another opportunity to align with the Dark Arts in the realm of Wizardry.
