Summary
- Developer Turn 10 Studios releases Forza Motorsport update 17 on February 10.
- Update 17 enhances multiplayer features to ensure fair competition.
- The update also includes fixes for audio issues with specific cars and a Quick Resume problem on Xbox Series X|S.
10 Studios, the developer behind Forza Motorsport, has rolled out a fresh update, bringing improvements to its multiplayer mode as well as various adjustments and optimizations. In addition, they’ve announced that the new Spotlight cars and in-game events for Forza Motorsport will debut on February 12, following the release of the update on February 10 for both Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
The video game titled “Forza Motorsport” belongs to the larger “Forza” franchise and boasts sophisticated features such as real-time ray tracing, over 500 different vehicles, and numerous performance enhancements. As a reboot of the initial “Forza Motorsport” series, it boasts an upgraded physics system and AI technology to elevate the racing experience, making it feel more realistic. Since its launch in 2023, the game has received multiple updates, introducing new content and partnerships. Now, Turn 10 Studios is rolling out another update to address certain problems and prepare for upcoming events within “Forza Motorsport“.
The latest update (17) for Forza Motorsport has been launched, granting players the opportunity to experience enhanced car audio for the 1998 Toyota Supra RZ and 2020 Toyota GR Supra. Moreover, the updated Rival select system offers a more refined experience. In terms of multiplayer, the update alters how friends and random opponents are matched in Next Rival to prevent races that are either excessively challenging or too easy for a player’s skill level. Furthermore, players can now seamlessly transition between Rivals events without encountering any game instability issues.
Besides these fixes, some additional adjustments were made as well. For instance, there were issues with the sound of the 2019 Lamborghini Sian FKP 37’s exhaust and the cockpit audio in the 2021 Porsche GT3 that were addressed. Furthermore, certain cars in Forza Motorsport were improperly attenuated when viewed from the cockpit, but this visual problem has now been resolved. Players using Xbox Series X|S will be happy to learn that the bug causing the game to restart while using Quick Resume has been fixed.
Beyond this, it’s worth mentioning that the developer credited update 17 to the Forza Insiders Program, a community where gamers can trial fresh features and fixes. Speaking of patch 17, members of the insider team played a key role in restoring the Forza Touring Car Spec Series in Featured Multiplayer to their original components, among other adjustments. Additionally, Turn 10 Studios invites players to flag any issues they discover during gameplay via its Troubleshooting Hub and to share suggestions for future improvements through its Suggestions Hub.
In the upcoming February 12th, players who have installed Update 17 can expect additional content to the November 2024 patch that initially introduced NASCAR vehicles in Forza Motorsport. Keep an eye out for featured cars and new in-game events starting from this date.
