To traverse the vast landscape, gamers can glide over the map utilizing Spectral Hawks. You can summon these magical birds from colossal spectral trees, which enable players (Nightfarers) to ride wind currents, swiftly covering large expanses in a short span of time.
Regrettably, it seems I’m left pining for more adventures with my beloved character, as the arrival of the Spectral Hawks has apparently kept Torrent out of Elden Ring Nightreign, according to Dot Esports’ latest report.
Torrent Has Been Sent To The Glue Factory In Elden Ring Nightreign
According to Elden Ring Nightreign’s director, Junya Ishizaki, Torrent has been substituted because the overall method of traversing the Lands Between has changed significantly, and the diverse scales of the biomes play a crucial role in this adjustment.
Ishizaki shared his excitement for players to anticipate diverse navigation methods in Nightreign, stating, ‘The way you move around the map and discover it is different now, impacting both the pace and overall experience of the game.’
Ishizaki added, “We’re confident players will appreciate the new sprinting and mounting system, as well as the Spectral Hawks, which provide alternative means of moving across the map. By doing so, we aimed to enhance navigation, and indeed, it seems more swift compared to riding Torrent in Elden Ring.
I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment that Torrent or similar steeds didn’t make the final roster for Elden Ring. Riding around the Lands Between on these mounts would have undeniably added to the immersive experience, making it feel even more like the Elden Ring world we all know and love. The shift to birds might be a sensible choice, but the idea of galloping across the land with friends on horseback as we embark on our adventure when Elden Ring releases on May 30 is an enticing prospect that I can’t shake off.
