An update for the game PUBG: Battlegrounds has been released, bringing about various modifications such as adjustments to weapons and improvements to vehicles. Additionally, the 1v1 battle experience within the game has been refined for a smoother gaming session. Notably, this new update emphasizes PUBG’s 1v1 Arena mode, making it easier to access, ensuring a more streamlined interaction. To top it off, a fresh Ranked season begins alongside the latest update of PUBG: Battlegrounds, promising an exciting experience that players won’t want to skip out on.
Despite encountering tougher competition since its launch, PUBG: Battlegrounds has successfully maintained its dominance in the battle royale genre due to regular updates and gameplay modifications. These updates have incorporated a variety of new elements into the game, including weapons, vehicles, and locations. One of the latest additions to PUBG is an AI teammate, which utilizes Nvidia ACE technology to mimic human players’ perception, planning, and actions. Today, PUBG has rolled out its newest update, introducing several substantial changes on its own.
The latest update, version 34.1, is now available for PUBG: Battlegrounds on PC, with the console version launching February 20. This update introduces improvements to the game’s arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and the 1v1 Arena mode. In terms of weapon balance, PUBG’s collection of firearms has been tweaked – the weight of 7.62mm ammunition has been reduced, allowing players to carry more of it. Shotguns have also seen adjustments, including a reduction in buckshot spread, recoil, and damage, all aimed at enhancing close-quarters combat. However, the MK12’s recoil has been boosted to limit its effectiveness in long-range situations.
Additionally, the latest update for PUBG includes modifications to its 1v1 Arena. This mode was initially introduced in 2022, designed to give players a taste of the game and its weapon mechanics. To improve user experience, the 1v1 Arena has been made more accessible, enabling players to enter it directly via Arcade mode. Each match consists of three rounds, each lasting 60 seconds. Furthermore, users now have the ability to organize 1v1 duels using Custom Matches.
In addition to the 34.1 update for PUBG, a fresh Ranked season has been launched, offering players new objectives and incentives such as unique weapon skins and animated badges. The fleet of vehicles within PUBG has received improvements as well, with additions like trunks to the Dacia, Mirado, Pony Couple, and Couple RB models, providing additional storage for items and gear. Furthermore, vehicles including the Buggy and Quad have been enhanced with tougher tires. Last but not least, this 34.1 update addresses numerous bugs and performance concerns to enhance overall gameplay in PUBG: Battlegrounds.

In Update 34.1, we’re revising the speed and efficiency of classic vehicles in PUBG that have been around for quite a while. Over the past eight years, the pace of the game has sped up, yet many of these older vehicles remain largely unchanged. Some vehicles have also demonstrated superior performance compared to others, leading to an imbalance. To rectify this issue, we’re carrying out a thorough rebalancing of these classic vehicles. By enhancing the speed of multiple vehicles, our aim is to align with the faster tempo of gameplay. Simultaneously, we’re reducing the performance disparity between vehicles to provide players with a wider variety of choices. Furthermore, we’re extending the trunk system to more vehicles, fostering opportunities for more engaging and adaptable gameplay experiences. We hope these adjustments will enable you to enjoy faster and more diverse gameplay!

Spawn Changes

In this update, Dev discusses various modifications made to the game’s weaponry:
1. The Mk12, a popular choice among players since May 2022, has had its two-shot killing range reduced to promote balance. However, it still retains its ability to swiftly eliminate opponents within a specific range with only two shots. To make the Mk12 less overpowered, adjustments like increased recoil have been implemented.
2. To bridge the gap between 7.62mm ammo weapons and consistently strong-performing 5.56mm ammo weapons, the weight of 7.62mm ammunition has been decreased. This adjustment addresses the current disadvantage of 7.62mm weapons in terms of securing Throwables and managing Inventory space.
3. Future updates will consider balancing adjustments for other Assault Rifles (ARs) and Designated Marksman Rifles (DMRs).
4. Shotguns, which were previously adjusted in Update 28.1, will maintain their overall characteristics and balance while individual weapons’ roles are redefined. The S1897, despite its high usage, has shown low win rates. To make it more effective in combat, improvements have been made to its buckshot spread and reduced the pump action time. On the other hand, the S12K, with high win rates, has had its buckshot spread and damage decreased. The S686, which has both low usage and win rates, has had its buckshot spread adjusted to emphasize its unique strengths.
5. The top-tier Care Package weapon, the DB, has been buffed to match its prestigious status.
6. Spawn rates of Shotguns have also been rebalanced to encourage players to choose a Shotgun based on its performance and role rather than availability. This update includes numerous gunplay adjustments, and balance updates are planned every two months throughout 2025 to offer diverse weapon choices and foster an engaging gunplay environment. The team is excited to see how these changes affect your gameplay experience on the Battlegrounds!
