If Guardians have a greater fondness for something other than annihilating high-ranking adversaries of humankind, it’s crafting those enemies into weapons. The latest addition to the ever-expanding inventory of lethal tools for Guardians in Destiny 2 is Finality’s Auger, a Linear Fusion Rifle categorized as a Power Weapon. It boasts an exclusive design, rapid-fire capability, and naturally, a distinct inherent trait.
In Destiny 2, obtaining Finality’s Auger isn’t a straightforward process of visiting a vendor and picking it up. Instead, players need to prepare their strongest builds and brave the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. The lucky ones who encounter favorable RNG (Random Number Generation) from Bungie might receive exceptional loot as a reward.
How to Get Finality’s Auger in Destiny 2
As a dedicated player, I managed to acquire Finality’s Auger by successfully completing the Sundered Doctrine dungeon on Savathuun’s Throne World. This challenging adventure was set in motion when Ikora Rey provided me with The Drowning Labyrinth quest. Remarkably, the chance of obtaining Finality’s Auger occurs at random upon defeating Kerrev, The Erased during the third and final encounter within Sundered Doctrine.
Players can attempt to acquire Finality’s Auger thrice weekly by successfully completing the Sundered Doctrine dungeon, provided they finish it on all three classes: Titan, Warlock, and Hunter. It’s important to note that players can only make one run per character, and there are no additional farming opportunities outside of these three attempts. However, a method exists to potentially boost the drop rate.
To obtain the Finality’s Auger for certain, the only viable method was by completing the dungeon during Contest Mode from February 7th through February 9th.

Obtaining Finality’s Auger may rely on chance, but boosting luck in favor of the Guardian can be done by finishing particular Triumphs under the Sundered Doctrine tab. Here are three methods to enhance the initial drop rate of Finality’s Auger, with each technique outlined below:
1. Completing specific bounties associated with the Sundered Doctrine.
2. Accomplishing triumphs related to defeating certain enemies or completing activities under the Sundered Doctrine.
3. Acquiring and using specific modifiers that boost drop chances for Finality’s Auger.
Triumph | How to Complete |
Laboratory Inspector | Find all 9 collectibles in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon |
Lonely Travels | Complete all encounters in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon solo and without leaving the activity. |
Military Doctrine | Complete all 3 Sundered Doctrine dungeon encounters on Master difficulty. |
Finishing these Triumphs and collecting them from the Titles tab doesn’t ensure that players will definitely receive the Finality’s Auger exotic, but it does boost their odds somewhat while they try to outwit the random number generator (RNG) deities.

- Runescribe’s Forge: (Square/R/X) Long Press to fire a special projectile that deploys a Ruinscribe Turret. This projectile costs 3 ammo to fire. Aim the projectile skyward to provide the clearest sight lines for the turret which will automatically shoot at nearby targets.
Finality’s Auger’s unique Exotic ability enables players to hold down the reload button, launching a projectile straight upwards that transforms into a turret upon reaching its peak. In-game enemies will disregard this turret, allowing players who have deployed it to unleash devastating fire from above for 25 seconds before it vanishes, requiring another turret to be placed. The perk isn’t extraordinarily damaging, but its splash damage is beneficial for aiming down sights (ADS), and it’s further enhanced with the second Exotic Perk, Ruinscribe’s Beacon: While a Ruinscript Turret is active, this weapon can mark targets with its laser projectiles. The turret prioritizes marked targets and fires more potent ammunition at them. Press Square/R/X to switch between regular fire and laser fire modes.
With the second Exotic Ability, players can essentially mark an area with their weapon, making it look like a guided targeting system. This empowers them to summon portable air strikes that will aim the turret at the marked spot, firing five-round bursts to quickly eliminate ads and even inflict significant damage on boss enemies.
In its regular setting, Finality’s Auger functions much like a typical Linear Fusion Rifle, dishing out substantial damage. However, for optimal results, it’s advisable to deploy the turret, mark an area, and then empty the magazine of your standard Linear Fusion Rifle.
Finality’s Auger, a delightful weapon, excels in Episode: Heresy due to its unique perk, which never consumes ammunition.
