Once they finish the tutorial, players will be granted access to traverse the Trosky Region, initially starting at Troskowitz. Here, their primary objectives include figuring out how to attend a wedding and securing employment. Blacksmith Radavon in Tachov provides various side quests that can assist players in obtaining lodging and eventually an invitation to the wedding.
This guide offers a comprehensive walkthrough for completing “The Hermit,” the culminating quest in Radavon’s storyline within the game “Kingdom Come: Deliverance.” Players should be mindful as they progress through its tasks.
The Hermit Side Quest Walkthrough In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Starting The Quest
To initiate the “The Hermit” mission, players should journey to Tachov and seek out Blacksmith Radavon. He’ll provide them with “Blacksmith’s Son” and another quest titled “Jaunt”. Finishing the latter will instantly trigger “The Hermit”. If players have completed Miller’s questline at Lower Semine Mill for the wedding, they can bypass “Jaunt” for Radavon and jump straight into “The Hermit”. After accepting the quest, the initial task is to converse with Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz.
Talk to Betty
As a gamer, I’ll chat up Betty, the friendly innkeeper, about tracking down the elusive Hermit. She’ll offer me several conversation choices on this matter, and while these are all optional, I can’t afford to skip them if I don’t want to pass up on a task during this side quest. After I’ve exhausted all my dialogue options with Betty, I’ll be given a stack of new tasks to complete, one at a time. Let’s dive right in!
Talk to the Villagers

Initially, speak with individuals living near the Tavern for details on the Hermit. Many passersby might dismiss your queries or claim they’re unaware. However, make an effort to locate the Alehouse Maid and engage her in conversation, as she can provide valuable information that should help you accomplish this objective.
Talk to Witness Gerda
Gerda resides close to Emerich’s Apothecary yard, right in the heart of Troskowitz. It’s quite conspicuous and hard not to find. At various times during the day, you might need to wait a while before she shows up, perched on a bench. When she does, you have the opportunity to engage her in conversation. She may seem reluctant to talk initially, but you’ll get a chance to convince her. If you happen to have 12 Groschen, you can offer it to speed up the conversation. This action fulfills the objective.
Investigate The Cross

To the west of Troskowitz lies a landmark on your map that guides you towards a cross. Beneath this cross, there’s a grave you need to unearth. To achieve this, you’ll need a Spade, which can be purchased for approximately 6-7 Groschen from Merchant Jurg Thomel in Troskowitz. Another option is to find and take a Spade from various locations, but make sure no one is watching to avoid being caught and reported to the authorities.
Upon digging the grave, you will find a bag that you can loot to obtain:
- 30 Groschen
You may find wolves wandering near the cemetery. Make sure not to harm them if you’re trying to earn the “Lent” Trophy/Achievement.
Talk to Witness Stanislav
This time around, your destination is to journey to the east of Troskowitz for a conversation with Shepherd Stanislav. Just like Gerda, you can either pay him or successfully pass a dialogue test to get the information you need. Additionally, you could offer something to him, which might prompt him to discuss the Hermit, thereby fulfilling your objective.
How To Find The Hermit In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
As a keen explorer, having wrapped up all the optional tasks, it’s now time for me to delve into the captivating town of Apollonia. Here, I’ll come across a striking black steed nestled by a fence, ready for a leap! Once I’ve taken a closer look at this equine wonder, I should make my way to the western side of Apollonia. There, I’ll stumble upon the hermit’s hideaway. Due to the time of day, I might need to bide some hours before he stirs from his slumber. Remember to save your game before engaging with him, as there are instances where he may react adversely to my presence. If such a situation arises, a few more hours should help diffuse the tension.

After chatting with the hermit, choose “I’ve picked up some peculiar things about you…” and proceed by exploring all available dialogue choices. This initiates the quest called “A Sinful Soul,” where he requests you to take a specific item to Widow Margaret in Troskowitz.
In the “A Sinful Soul” mission, your objective is clear – have a conversation with the Widow, agree to bury Jan in the cemetery, and she will guide you there. Upon arrival, you should start digging a grave for him. Later, you’ll find red flowers situated nearby the cemetery. You must pick these flowers before discovering another grave to dig. Place the bones inside this second grave to finish the task, which rewards you with 40 Groschen if you opt for the initial dialogue choice. Here is a comprehensive guide on completing “A Sinful Soul” in “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2”.
To complete the mission “A Sinful Soul”, talk to the Widow, bury Jan in the cemetery, dig a grave for him, then find and pick red flowers nearby. Use these flowers to locate another grave to dig, place the bones inside, and get 40 Groschen if you choose the first dialogue option. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough of this mission in “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2”.
Should You Save Or Kill The Hermit In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

After finishing the task, make your way back to where the Hermit usually resides. On your journey, you’ll come across a band of knights planning to apprehend the Hermit since they suspect he might be an imposter. They may ask for your assistance; if so, follow their instructions and set fire to some hay as a signal for them to commence their operation.
As you draw near to the hermit, maintain a safe distance so that you have an opportunity to engage in conversation with him. You might say something like “I’m trying to get answers” followed by “I’m not your enemy!” to establish rapport and continue the discussion. Once you’ve done this, feel free to ask him about the location of whatever you seek.
At this point, you must decide whether to assist the hermit in battling the knights or align yourself with the knights and eliminate him. Both choices will net you 85 Groschen without any other repercussions. If you’re aiming for additional gear and currency, defeating the knights would be more advantageous as you can loot their remains afterward.
After your encounter with the hermit, return to speak with him once more to receive your 85 Groschen reward.
As a gamer, if I choose to ally with the Hermit, handling the trio of knights isn’t overly challenging. All I need to do is keep one foe at bay while the Hermit swiftly dispatches two of them. Once they’re down, he’ll swoop in to help me wrap up the last remaining knight.

If you choose not to complete the optional tasks and the Hermit doesn’t disclose the sword’s hiding spot, then head upstairs to his house and gather the three bags. These sacks will uncover a hidden , which holds important clues about where the sword is located.
If you eliminate the hermit prior to him disclosing the sword’s hiding place, obtaining the book will undoubtedly become a challenging task. The knights will take over his house, and attempting to enter it would be considered an intrusion, which makes retrieving the Diary of Knight Conrad risky.
Finding the Sword & Forging It
Following the indicated spot on your map, you’ll discover a pair of intertwined birch trees, resting under which are both a grave and a sword. The grave contains no valuable items; simply retrieve the sword and make your way back to Tachov.
Speak with Blacksmith Radavon, who will provide you with the go-ahead to craft the Hermit’s Sword on your own. Crafting this sword needs 1 and 2 items. The process is straightforward: evenly heat the sword, place it on the anvil, and shape it using your hammer. After each hit, slightly adjust the position of the sword to prevent hitting the same spot twice. Switch sides when you reach the tip and keep repeating until the sword cools off, then reheat and carry on shaping. Pay attention to Henry’s remarks as he will let you know if there’s an issue.
Upon finishing the task, the item will be yours. Hand it over to Radavon, and he’ll compensate you with 25 Groschen, enough for you to participate in the upcoming wedding.
If you’ve finished the storyline associated with Miller, you can skip the part about gifting the sword as a wedding present. Instead, you may deliver the sword to Tomcat in Nomad’s Camp. This action will initiate a battle, and upon victory, Tomcat will compensate you with Groschen.
