As I watch the final episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA unfold, it seems we’re nearing the finish line. The Evil Third Eye has given Supreme Demon King Gomah an almost unbeatable edge. Though the heroes and even some villains like the Majin brothers have banded together in a heroic team effort, the power of the Tertian Oculus has proven too formidable. With their backs against the wall, it appears that a miniaturized Super Saiyan 3 Goku might be their last chance as the battle with Gomah rages on in Dragon Ball DAIMA.

As I watched, it appeared that Goku was heading towards a confrontation with Majin Duu and Dr. Arinsu as the grand finale of DAIMA neared. In the courtyard, Goku’s battle with Majin Duu over the Demon Realm Dragon Balls seemed balanced, but things took an unexpected turn in Episode 17. While Majin Duu and Tamagami Number One gave Goku a brief reprieve to undergo his Super Saiyan 3 transformation for the first time since the decisive battle against Kid Buu at the end of Dragon Ball Z, it remains uncertain whether even that power would be sufficient to overcome the Supreme Demon King, Gomah.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Unveils Super Saiyan 4 Goku (Mini)

In Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 18, Goku, now empowered by his Super Saiyan 3 form, leaped straight into combat with Gomah at the start. With the speed and strength that came with this new transformation, Goku swiftly advanced against his towering adversary, delivering numerous heavy blows. As if influenced by their transformed foe-turned-ally, Majin Kuu managed to find a cookie, about as big as a large pizza, and flung it like a frisbee into the mouth of Majin Duu.

Although he hadn’t been able to outdo Gomah up until now, surprisingly, the cookie provided Majin Duu with a substantial power increase. Observing the golden-haired figure next to him, Duu even changed his head shape to mimic the spiky Saiyan hairstyle.

The threesome consisting of Duu (powered by cookies), miniature Super Saiyan 3 Goku, and Tamagami Number One unleashed a series of joint attacks, but unfortunately, Duu’s strength began to wane as the cookie effect faded away. Seizing the opportunity, Gomah launched a destructive beam from the Tertian Oculus, leaving Goku and his team vulnerable with just a few swift follow-up strikes. With victory seemingly within reach, Gomah readied another blast. However, at the last moment, Neva intervened to change the course of events.

A famous Namekian fired an energy orb at fallen Goku, initiating a sequence of events that had been building for over a decade. Just as Grand Elder Guru unleashed Gohan’s hidden powers during the Frieza Saga in Dragon Ball Z, this surge of energy ignited a transformation that fans have eagerly anticipated for years.

In this latest scene, Goku’s hair transformed into a rich crimson shade, and a matching reddish fur sprouted over his chest. A tail, never before seen since the original Dragon Ball series, appeared on him for the first time in the canon. In response to Gomah’s massive blast of dark energy, Goku underwent a transformation to defend against and outmatch the attack. The crowd surrounding Goku expressed shock at this new form, but longtime Dragon Ball fans instantly recognized it as a return of Super Saiyan 4. Despite some minor changes due to his current size, there’s no question that Super Saiyan 4 is back in action.

In the anime Dragon Ball GT, there was a smaller version of the Great Ape-inspired transformation that significantly increased Goku’s power. As Gomah was under attack by Glorio and Piccolo, their efforts proved unsuccessful but they did buy Goku some time to prepare a Kamehameha.

Gomah’s advance was halted by an immense blow, yet he hadn’t had time to retaliate. Swiftly, Goku countered mid-flight and unleashed a colossal Kamehameha wave, powerful enough to push Gomah forcefully into the ground beneath them. Regrettably, that move didn’t quite seal the deal.

In the aftermath, a colossal Supreme Demon King named Gomah surfaced from the debris. Using his sinister Third Eye, he generated an energy sphere that sent Goku crashing back to his regular black-haired state. As it appeared Goku was about to lose, Dr. Arinsu activated her secret double agent and instructed a hesitant Glorio to gather the other Demon Realm Dragon Balls and summon Porunga from the Demon Realm. If Super Saiyan 4 Mini Goku couldn’t overcome Gomah, the destiny of the cosmos might hinge on Glorio’s wish in the upcoming episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA.
